TD Bank Cash Credit Card Geo Restricted?

Has anyone in Texas been able to obtain a TD Bank credit card? I am interested in their cash rewards credit card, but I wenty to apply online and it said I could not apply online due to not being in their footprint. It did say I could call in and apply, but not sure if that's worth my time. Has anyone else been able to get a TD Bank card while being outside of their footprint? TIA

After my BK7 discharged late 2017, I was still driving trucks over the road and really wanted their Secured Visa which was basically the same as the Cash Rewards Card.
I went in a branch in Connecticut and opened a checking account and deposited $500 in it. The banker suggested I use a family member's address in a state that had a branch. So I made up an address in North Carolina. The secured card was approved and mailed to that address. It was difficult dealing with them to pick up a card in a branch.
Finally weeks later when I got to a branch, they changed my address to my Indiana address and ordered a new card.
The customer service for their cards division is in Greenville, SC and they aren't very friendly or educated. The many reps I talked with were message takers and knew very little. I closed the card because I wasn't going to patronize a place that had such poor customer service.

To answer your question, yes, use someone else's address and change the address back after the account has been opened. Maybe tell them you moved to Virginia and changed your mind and moved back home. But they aren't worth the trouble

Yeah, I am pretty sure I would never get approved if I used a different address. I have dealt with identity theft in the past, so all the alarm bells go off when I apply for anything. An instant approval for anything is a miracle for me. Not having to do verification of any kind is also pretty rare, but it happens! It looks like this card is not in "the cards" for me.

@TattnallTrio I would advise not to advise people to use addresses that arent theirs in hopes of getting a credit card . Last thing we need is getting people hit with fraud cases from lenders.Thank you AJC

I'm in a state that doesn't have a TD Bank footprint, but I've been able to get approved for some of their cards. The Aeroplan Visa had no geo-restrictions a while back (recently converted to FirstClass) and TD Ameritrade, IIRC.

I've read in places that the TD Card is fairly hard to get, needing mid 700s. I got it based on my Canadian credit score before I had a US credit file, so can't confirm.

I haven't used it since I got my Savor 1 and Paypal MasterCard, as they both let me redeem cashback whenever, not just at $25 or more.
