Which Card Should I Apply for First?

Hi Again,

I have three goal cards, however I'm looking to apply for one out of two. It's USB Cash+ versus Discover and I'm wondering which to go for first?

I checked Disco's prequalification link and said I was 'preapproved' for two of their cards (Cash Back, Gas & Restaurant) both with 19.49% APR. Their CB card is the one I want.

Unfortunately, when it comes to USBank there's no prequal tool, and I don't have an account with them. I heard they may or may not be profile thin friendly which is really the only thing that could hold me back for being approved for anything.

My scores and profile stats are in my siggy. What are your thoughts?

I expect you will get either one.

Disco is more likely to approve a sweet SL. If that's important -- it would be for me -- then choose Discover.

With the 5 percent catagory (Gas in april) along with the cash match and the 14 months 0 apr and balance tranfers..Discover is a Win Win by Far

My answer, apply for both first.🤔😂

They're both goal cards. Get them both. My Discover has a much higher limit than the Cash+. Guess which one gets the most use?😉

Discover is great for direct deposit transfers.

Both are great cards for different reasons.

I would love to, but I don't want to lose a lot of points plus a huge chunk out of my AAoA since it's going to hurt with just one approval.

This is my choice too, but know your cautious Angel. You don't seek, shouldn't raise flags.

looking at your scores you (Might) Loose 20 points for Both cards..And get that back in 3 months give or take 😂 we different because i would fire away with no Hesitation 😂

Very tempting to apply for both now since that would only leave me with one goal card left. Maybe I'll apply for the two back to back tomorrow, then off to the garden again for awhile. Well, I guess it really doesn't matter at this point which to apply for first!

Since US bank is Very tight on Inquirys..i would go for that one first..Then Discover Seconds After 😂 plus your already preapproved with discover..so no need to pull the trigger with them First

Your scores will recover. Please do what makes you comfortable though. I'd rather take the hit now for both and allow them to grow old together.

There are two types of people. Those that buy, drive and enjoy the cars they love. And those that just admire the cars they buy. Placing them in a climate controlled garage to look at.

The same goes for credit scores.

Discover. Mine has grown a lot in the four plus years vs. my three plus years with USB.

@Anonymous ..If it were me, since you are going to take an AoYA hit anyhow, I would get both cards.

And also they can age together. I think you would be just fine with two ... JMHO

There's also benefit of aging together. Only one hit at once.
