Which Credit card to apply?

I have recently moved to states and looking to build my credit history. I have got an Amex platinum charge card here due to my credit history back in Europe via global transfer and an auto loan paying half down in cash. I am looking to apply for another credit card. Can anyone suggest me which credit card to go for with good approval probability with a fico score of 680, 6 months credit history and doesn't require income proof?

@Anonymous Hi and Welcome to the forum!

The only thing I can think of .. is to try Discover or Capitol one Pre-Qualify web page.

Personally I prefer Discover over Capitol One. If you are only offered secured cards, you may have to go that route.

Discover Secure cards do graduate to unsecured.

I'd check w/Amex -- you might be prequalified for some of their cards. Welcome.

OP,

+2, Agree with checking for Amex prequals first since you are already in their ecosystem AMD YEMV, but for many already with Amex it is a SP.

Beware of app'g for Discover based on the last lone, which I underlined from your post above, as Discover may approve you and then turn around and request a 4605-T, so if you are trying to avoid having to provide proof of income, I would skip right over Discover, IMHO.

Discover card or Capital One you pick. Both have Pre Qual sites soft pull

I'd say go with a secured card that has a good chance to graduate. From what I understand, BofA and Discover graduate. I know someone with a CapOne secured for 6mo we'll see about it graduating. Good luck.

If you don't want to go secured definitely go with SP prequals on Discover and Capital One. BofA does a SP prequal as well I believe.
