Does Barclays ever give SP CLI's, (not auto CLI)? I know like US Bank, they show the HP language on the CLI page, but US Bank didn't do a HP, just an instant CLI.

Last I heard, if you apply online it will be a HP.

There use to be a SP work around by calling and seeing if there were any offers on your account but I have not heard much success with this method recently.

Does Barclays even still exist?. Very rare we see them mentioned here lately. I guess them nerfing peoples favorite cards like Sallie, Ring, and Uber, with their penchsnt for cld, has made them a last resort kinda lender though of course just my thoughts.

@macinjosh i dont think sp is very common with them these days

@macinjosh, I have seen no DP's on "SP" CLI's for Sir Barclay as of late.

As the other poster suggested, you might call for any offers.

Barclays is useless to me. Use it just enough to keep it open like to keep my membership on here for example. But I'm not using a HP to get a CLI with them I've waved the white flag many years ago after the HP language was stated to me.

Yeah, I want them to give me another BT offer, but I'd like to have a bigger CL so I can have a bigger BT.

They are pretty HP happy. I have the Arrival +, and called about 6 months ago to try the "offer" CLI trick and was told I didn't have any and that a CLI would result in a HP.

They did give me some Auto Luv back in Jan after my 6th statement cut though. Went from $2500 limit to $3500.

A few months ago, I called and the rep told me that they do SP CLI automatically, but it's a random selection of customers. I believe that she said every 6 months? Other than that, it would be a HP, she said.

I have never seen an auto CLI from them over many years of card ownership. I have gotten a couple of cli's from calling in and asking if there were any offers, but nothing recently.

They are one of the lenders though that will combine limits. That is how I got to my current limit on my AA card.

Not really.

There has been a convoluted method for trying to get one which some people have used, although I haven't seen any recent posts about it. The method is to call customer service, ask for an interest rate reduction, they switch you to a credit representative, they do or do not give you an interest rate reduction, then you ask the credit representative if there are any offers for you such as a credit limit increase. Some people, in the past, have gotten soft pull CLI's this way.

I applied in August 2019 and received a decent auto-cli in March 2020. FWIW, it was a few days before my 7th month mark. I used the card regularly although it was not my main card. It was my main card for ridesharing and dining however.

Always Hard inqury. However they do auto increase. Was at $7,700 bumped to $11,100 no questions asked

My last auto increase from Barclays was in 2016. I am using several other cards besides the one I have from Barclays though.

Interesting! I need to try this for the heck of it and see what they'll do for my Black Card as I just paid the AF so perhaps good timing for me. My current APR is 14.99% which doesn't seem completely out of line for them. I have not carried a balance in about 2 years on it.

Update....well that didn't work. Called and asked to speak to someone about an APR reduction considering I had just paid my AF and they were reporting my FICO on their website at 823. The rep stated the typical canned response "We review all our accounts on a regular basis and do not take consumer requests for APR reductions" I then asked when was the last time my account was reviewed and was the option for a manual/secondary review. Nope, last reviewed in NOV and no offers on my account are eligible. I then even proceeded to ask about a CLI...nope, nothing there either. Oh well!
