Chase reconsideration line (my first time)

I recently applied for the Chase freedom card on 5/16/20. When I applied I got the 5-7 business day message. I waited a day and called the reconsideration line and I was told that the bank needed my financial income documents. I scanned them in, but they were never received, so I went into the branch yesterday 5/26/20 to drop me off. Now when I check the application status hotline the message has changed from "7-10 days" to "within 30 days." This was my first time calling a reconsideration line, and I'm not really sure what do do next. Any suggestions? I've heard that the 30 day notice from Chase isn't a good thing, but I really want to turn this "no" into a yes.

my bg: credit score 690 , average credit history is around 5 years, no items in collections.

Hi @Anonymous , and Welcome to the forums!

Back to 30 days probably just means that it is being reviewed after you gave them the Docs. in branch.

Call the automated "Robo Lady" .. and you can check status there. Other than that, I would not bug them,

and just continue to be patient while they work on it.

Right now it just means that because you gave the requested documents they need more time to review. 30 days could go either way.

I would just just keep checking the application status line for changes.

30 days usually means that they are pending.

14 days/2 weeks means most likey it is approved.

7-10 business days is usually a denial.

YMMV. Since it went from 7-10 days to 30 days, it's a good sign!

I just called the automated system and I have been approved!! It is a very low credit limit ($500), however hopefully I can raise that in about 6 months 👍 I was hoping for a higher CL, but I am just happy to be approved 😊

Congrats for the approval. Typically a small credit line is a sign to garden for awhile. At least with that particular creditor.
