BOA CC application question

I always get mixed answers with BOA Customer Rep so might as well ask here. Question is... If you apply for a BOA CC within 30 days for 2 different cards, do they HP twice or just used the one they already have? One example is if you get denied for their CC and applied for their secured card, do they pull 2 HP? Thanks guys

@blazerein In my opinion being a Bofa cust for years it has always been credit pull no matter what applications you submit. So yes Bofa will do another hard pull on your credit.

@blazerein, I do not ever remember reading of BoA combining HP's.

@blazerein, I do not ever remember reading of BoA combining HP's.

Back when either a CC application or CLI request triggered a HP they would reuse it if within 30 days for the other request type. If you applied for a CLI on an existing card they would reuse the HP if within 30 days you applied for an additional card, or if applying for an additional card they would reuse it for (at least 2) CLI requests within 30 days on existing cards.

I however can't specifically speak to the OP's senario.

I received 2 HPs in this exact scenario...this was just this past late March, early April. At @AllZero’s suggestion, I called and asked them if they could please recode the 2nd to a sp, they politely declined. 🙈

ETA: When I contacted them, I called the recon # and they explained secured cards are completely separate departments so it would have to be 2 HPs.

Thank you @AllZero , it was a great suggestion and absolutely worth a try. I still came away with new knowledge as before, I had no idea HPs could even be recoded...as always, thank you for the education in my situation as well as all you contribute within these forums. 🤓

Back in March, I got 2 BofA business cards with just 1 HP about 3 weeks apart.

This is probably one of those YEMV scenarios. Expect two pulls and be happy if you get only one.
