BOA $99/500 offer

Hello all! I've read online that BoA offers a partially secured $500 card for a $99 deposit. However, I can't find it anywhere on their website. Do you know where I can find and redeem this offer?

If I'm not mistaken, the 99/500 option is a counter-offer to an application for a better card. You really cannot apply for it specifically.

@CreditCrusader I applied for their Cash Rewards card this morning but was denied, however I didn't recieve a counter offer.

From what I've read the counter offer comes immediately after the denial.

@coreyb80 Darn, I wasn't offered it immediately after. It didn't even offer the standard $300 deposit for the secured card, even though I prequalified for it and the Cash Rewards unsecured.

FYI: I wouldn't put a lot of stock in BOA's "offers". They look like prequalifications, but aren't very solid.

This morning I applied online for the Cash Rewards card (mainly because of the $99 for $500 secured offer I've heard about post-denial). However, I never recieved that offer after my denial (I have no idea if there's a chance it may come by mail with the denial letter?)

I currently have a Discover IT and NFCU secured, is it worth adding a BoA secured? I'm really wanting to increase my credit score over the next year or so. I'm willing to pay the $300 for a $300 line, but would much prefer the $99 for $500 if I can find a way to snag that deal.

It's not a problem. The mods strive to make it easier for members to keep track and follow up with relevant commentary as it gets harder when a discussion is distributed across multiple threads, so when appropriate a mod will consolidate.

@Wavester64 did you get an instant offer online or did you have to wait for the denial letter in the mail? I find it odd how I wasn't given the offer immediately online like so many others, as I've just been approved for Discovey IT secured and NFCU secured as well.

I was ready to curse BOA out () when I saw the 2nd offer. At first I thought it was a mistake, offering me the same thing they just declined me for. Then I realized they offered me the secured card. After I got over my bruised ego LOL, I accepted the offer, figuring why waste a HP for nothing and that from what I read on here, eventually it could graduate into the card I wanted initially.

Congrats, that's awesome! I'm hoping I get the $99/500 offer, maybe it's just coming by snail mail in the denial letter. I might try calling the back-door number and see about a recon/possible offer too. Crossing my fingers, I've read it's a great card to have!

Just got off the phone with BoA and asked them to reconsider and they still didn't give me the offer, said that I didn't qualify with my credit score. Said I should still apply for the $300 secured card, though.

@Anonymous If you can, try calling back and ask if they will reuse the hard pull. If they will, it might be worth opening up the card. If not, its probably better to aim at another card or garden with what you have.
