topic Citizen's Bank CC Offer in Credit Card Applications

While looking up Citizen Bank information for a promo they are having concerning a checking account, I came across this concerning their credit cards:

Not too shabby I might add. Curious if opening the checking account I did today will open the door to this CC (Cash Back+, but I *think* this offer is for either one of their listed cards). CC Offer Prob not, and not too much time left - but this is pretty decent considering.

From the brief read I did on the card on here, I *believe* they pull EQ, but don't quote me on that.

So if you maxed this out, you'd be looking at $350 total (7 months x $50 maximum benefit). Definitely not bad. After that the card is relatively average. I have read that they take a long time to process applications (rare instant approvals), kind of an "old school" lender in some ways.

I live well within their established footprint and had never done business with them when they sent me a preapproval mailer for the Cashback Plus card. I can't speak to the norm but I had an instant approval.

I've commented on them here before but as a quick recap:

They lean toward conservative SL although they aren't like for example US Bank and their $500 Cash+ Visa Signature cards.

As I mentioned in the other thread from earlier this afternoon they pulled EQ when I applied.

You have to wait at least 9 months before being eligible to request a CLI.

CLI requests trigger a HP.

Their online system doesn't seamlessly integrate checking/savings and credit card functions, it's a minor nuisance. The mobile app isn't bad and they do make it easy to make transfers from checking to CC for payment.

My 2 cents...

This has been my go to card for the last 2 years.

I bank with them and while depositing a check I was offered this card at 5K with 12.99% APR.

Best thing about it was that there was no HP, just a SP. No HP even after accepting the offer.

Scores were in the low to middle 700's at the time.

I got a SP cli to 8K about 1 year ago simply by asking the bank teller everytime I went in to a branch.

I just called today and they gave me another cli to $13,100 again only using a SP.

I do wish there Credit Card was more iintegrated with their online banking. It shows up there but I can't pay it from there...

But like @coldfusion stated... "it's a minor nuisance".

It was great to get the 1.8% cash back when I could not qualify for a 2% CB card.
