Question about second amex....

I just received a 3x cli on my BCP that I opened in Nov 2020. With that said, do I have to wait 181 days to be approved for new credit with them bc I got a cli? Also, are they more generous with SL on the second card?

I was approved in November for 1k SL. My experian file dropped my derogs and jumped quite a bit so they approved my 3x cli .... Now considering a second card...what you guys think? I most likely won't pull the trigger right this moment but I'm just gathering data I guess.

Exp Fico 746 income 72k. New accts are 4/12. (That's why I'm thinking of waiting)...

You can apply for a 2nd AmEx card without any restriction after obtaining your CLI. However, you would need to wait 180+ days for the next CLI opportunity.

As far as "generous" SL on a 2nd card, that will largely depend on your overall profile, reported income, scores (primarily EX8), history with AmEx, etc. What I would suggest, whenever you're ready to apply for the 2nd card, see if it yields any pre-approved offers.

When you click on the Apply button (depending on the card you select), if the message yields "Applying to expand your Card Membership with us is easy...", then that's likely a 50/50 shot, no guarantees of course.

I checked and I have the "your pre-approved!" Msg on every card

You should be good to go to apply if you decide. And me personally, AMEX was more generous on my 2nd card (albeit it only being $600) but still.

You'll have to pull the trigger to see the outcome. No one here would know for sure if you'd get $1K again or higher. Roll the dice 🎲
