I applied for the Caesars Rewards Visa today and got this message.... :

We're glad you'd like to open a Caesars Rewards® Visa® Credit Card account.

We just need to take a closer look at your application before making our decision.

Please look for our reply by mail in about the next 2 weeks.

Should I assume its a decline ?

I was pre-approved for 2k Toyota Card today, not that that means anyhting in regards to this Visa being approved

My data points

bk discharged 1 yr and 3 days ago (comenity not IIB)

EQ9 715

7% utilization across all cards

147,500 income

There's no correlation between the Toyota card pre-approval and your current application for the Caesars Visa CC.

Sometimes this type of notification can go 50/50, so best to wait for any correspondence to see whether they may need additional verification or the application was declined.

Yep got the same notification last week. Waiting for a letter myself.

have you tried calling them? sometimes it pays to be proactive.. they may have a few questions and its easier to take care of it on this end instead of reconsideration.

@GrandBay- Comenity doesn't entertain reconsiderations and they're not like other lenders when you can call for status updates. If a letter was generated which could require authentication, they are not going to discuss any information until the recipient is in possession of such correspondence. This isn't like Chase or BoA - just FYI.

Update...

I was proactive and called the number for the comenity account protection team and I explained to the rep that I had applied for two cards, Caesars Visa and Alphaeon card yesterday and I was confused as to why I got a 4500.00 pre approval for the Alphaeon card and when I applied the system said I would get a letter in two weeks and I asked her if anything was needed and she said I needed to send in my SS card, Driver License, and utility bill. She gave me the email addy to send all of that in and I did.

I have a fair number of inq (19 going back to May 2020 and my latest inq was March of this year) on my EQ report and my bk is only one year and a few days ago and I have also heard that people send in these documents sometimes and still get declined, so I am assuuming I will be declined for both, but who knows.

I would just temper expectations, but if they are requiring this information it's possible that it may yield in your favor. So, just hang tight until they make a decision. Typically, once they've done their due-diligence, you can call the toll-free C/S number for the Caesars Visa CC, if the automated system recognizes your inputs (based on the prompts) then it'll provide the account information (if approved).

I called the automated system and said my balance was zero and I had no available credit. I got transferred to a rep and she said my credit limit was 1k, I will take that, its a starting off point. I am quite happy.
