Is getting a Lowes CLI more likely in store?

I have a Lowes card with a 300 limit. Called credit solutions to see about an increase and it was a no-go.

If I tried in store, would I be more successful or would it just be the same process with the enhanced feature of the awkward in-person denial :-)

As far as I know, the computer still makes to decision. Personally, I would just go online and cut the person out entirely (if for no reason but to make it less awkward).

The people in store have no say in whether you get approved for a CLI, unfortunately. That is all up to their algorithm.

I would think the CLI results would be the same since it's a computerized decision and not a manual decision . . . So, I think that submitting an application in the store will have little if any impact on the approval decision.

Yeah, being an introvert, I would rather just be rejected by the computer.

I'm one of the few people who is relieved to get their teeth pulled just so I have an excuse not to attend our first in-person corporate happy hour!

corporate happy hours aren't always what they are cracked up to be.

What might be a kind of interesting senario is if for example you were to go in-store with your $300 CL Lowe's card and tried to use it to buy let's say a $349 gas grill. Would they deny the charge, make a 1-time exception and permit the charge, or would it trigger a CLI request that if approved would at least be sufficient to allow the charge to go through?

Likely deny the charge. You MAY have luck with paying the amount over $300 ahead so there is a negative balance, but this varies.

I believe the community would be curious to learn why the CLI request was not approved when you called. Hopefully you can share those results. And, echoing way others have mentioned, going to the store doesn't make a difference in the outcome.

I'll report back when I get the letter but presumably too many inquiries, too many new accounts, lack of real estate... the usual reasons (at least for me).

With all the new activity I've had, I have redefined 5/24 as 5 cards in 24 hours 😉. Ive been a bad myficoer!
