Since it just passed 90 days since my last increase with GS, I figured to give them a shot since I just scored with Sync & AMEX in last 24 hours.

Well, no dice and the reason is pretty funny, to be honest.

You have not used and paid enough of your Apple Card credit limit since your last credit limit increase

So I have technically used around 300 this month (with 49 of that still pending), around 200 in June, 250 in May out of the 7.5k credit limit. Yea, I am not a big spender but **bleep**. I guess I should have waited for the July statement to post before asking.

Eh, I will try again later

From what I'm reading/experiencing GS is like CO in that they like to see high usage. My last increase (my first) bumped me to $6.5k from $3k. I put just over $1k/mo on it, each of the 3 months (all PIF) before requesting a CLI. I'm thinking a 1/3rd CL is about what they like to bump you. (I've been looking at a lot of DP)

I'm not using my apple card much right now and I'm not sure I'll bother throwing anything at it in the short term. I'm focused on getting my Amex cards up and having just had my final baddie age off, GS isn't really on my radar.

My suggestion would be to aim for ~33% if you want a nice bump. Failing that and assuming you're not working on any other cards - push whatever your normal monthly spend on any other cards through it for a couple/few months and try again. Higher the better - PIF each month of course and you should see a nice CLI.

Yep I'm in the same boat as you. I got a $500 CLI ($6k -> $6.5k) after the first three-ish months with usage of $83, $61, $310, and $300 usage. I recently requested a CLI after the 91 day period, and got the same denial reason. My usage these most recent three months has been $400, $390, then $670. Still not enough for GS, I suppose.

I think their reason makes sense. If you don't use the card enough, there is no reason to grant a credit limit increase. Based on what people have posted before, they like to see at least 25% credit limit usage for decent CLIs.

I know this is an old thread, but I found it intriguing that it included advice to try for 1/3 out 1/4 of your credit line between CLIs. I'm wondering if that's more crucial than 90 or 91 days with GS.

I tried for a CLI this morning exactly 91 days and 12 minutes since my last one. And I've just determined that I'm a mere $26.81 in charges away from having used 1/3 of my current credit line since my last CLI. It's clear that using 1/4 of my CL wasn't enough in my case.

As an experiment, I'm going to try waiting until I've charged (and paid off) at least $26.81 in additional charges before asking for a CLI again. I'll update the thread here to let everyone know what happened.
