Mission Lane Visa

Was pre approved in the credit karma portal, wanted to check the limit and rate.

Was approved for a $300 unsecured limit with a chance to increase limit in 6 months.

has a $59 Annual fee with 29.99% Interest rate.

My experian fico 8 is 603

Should I accept this card and see if i can product change to their no af card when it renews?

I thought Credit Karma has app for $0 AF. WalletHub has app for $59Are you sure it is Credit Karma and not WalletHub. Couple of weeks ago I was approved for Mission Lane card through Credit Karma.

Unless you absolutely need it, I would say no. Try to avoid cards with annual fees, IMO.

No, you cannot change to the no AF card once you accept that one. According to the rep when I closed mine, once you've close a Mission Lane card, you can never obtain another. My advice would be to hold off on that one and wait till the no AF one becomes available.

Have you tried for Tomo Card, Grain and other cards that has no AF and approve based on you bank account balance. You can also try for Blaze card though it has $75 AF it is waived after 1 year. You can ask Blaze for CLI every six months.

I have had the mission card for about 10 months.

they will give you a cli after 6 months.

If you are rebuilding its not a terrible card, reports to all 3 cb's.

there are no monthly fees after first year like some other subprime cards.

As others said I don't think you can product change it bit it will continue to get cli's and if there is a point in which you feel that you no longer want it or want to pay that AF you can close it.

The AF is too high for even a starter card. I would shop around for a lower or no AF

OP, looking at your Siggy you had BK discharged couple of months ago. It is probably too soon for applying for new credit. I would wait few more months and then apply and you might get better cards and better deals.

I wouldn't take it. Get a secured credit card if u need another credit card. Plus theres an AF for that card.

I completely agree with @NaimeseOGK; "Hard Pass" on the Mission Lane card, at least until they send you an offer for a new card with no annual fees, and by that I mean, something directly to you in the mail, ignore anything CreditKarma, WalletHub, or any other advertising site has to offer.

I agree with this. I have a MissionLane card that I opened in March with a $1500 credit limit and no annual fee and a 26.99% interest rate. They mailed me an invitation and I accepted. Before this I had 3 secured cards. I am a fan of multiple secured cards for improving credit. Try the secured Discover It card, there is a preapproval link to see if you qualify.

I was discharged from a BK7 on July 12 and was approved for a Mission Lane card with no fees last week for $1k.

Was pre-approved with outstanding approval odds on CreditKarma and applied through Credit Karma.

While I have no doubt some folks get approved for card offers seen on CreditKarma, many others do not. While I personally have never applied for a card via CreditKarma (or any other card advertising site for that matter), I have applied for many of the cards they say I have a "Good" or "Excellent" chance for approval for (note: there is no such a thing on any of these sites as a "pre-approval"), and I've been denied for well over half of them.

I also got my mission lane card via preapproval link at credit karma, i also got ollo and a 3k sl mercury mastercard via ck, i guess i'm lucky, i'm 3 for 3 on preapprovals from ck

I agree the preapproval odds are wacky and not correct at ck. a few of the cards they say i have poor odds of getting i have already. I have had great luck with the preapproval links on the first page on the right side.

@SUPERSQUID, once again, nowhere on the CreditKarma site does it say, "pre-approval", errr, unless I missed it. The language I see is, "Your chance for approval is...", and to me at least, that makes sense as only the individual card issuers can determine one's "pre-approval" chances.

On the login page of ck i always have big sized preapproved offers on the right side of the page. to see the cc odds i have to click the link for cc's and then a verticle list comes up in order of best approval. in the past the large preapproval on the login page is for a cc, thats how i got mission lane, ollo, and mercury mastercard.

Very true.

Both times that I applied and was approved, my chances were 'Outstanding' and that was the only way I would have applied.
