topic Denied On Citi Premier in Credit Card Applications

I know it's probably my fault, but I got denied on my app. I had applied for the CFF last week and it went to pending and then approved me Thursday for it. I also applied for the Amex Business Prime on Tuesday and was approved instantly for it. I have been eyeing the Citi Premier because of the 80k SUB. I was hoping it would get approved as well since I was on a roll. But got an instant denial. I called the recon line this morning and they told me that it was due to having too many inquiries on my Experian report in a short period of time. She suggested that I wait 6 months to reapply and to check the report to make sure there wasn't any errors on it. But just based on too many recent inquiries, they would not even reconsider my app. I have 2 Citi cards with them now: Double Cash from 2003 that was a PC and a Costco card. Thought they would let me slide since I've had long standing accounts with no issues with them.

I believe this has to be a new unwritten rule with them. A few years ago I got the Premier with basically a churning profile with no issues. Nowadays banks look to be clamping down on those types of profiles. At least it's flexible enough where you just need to wait briefly compared to Chase's 5/24 rule
