Capital One CLI Rules

It's my understanding that Capital One has a 6 month rule for CLIs. Is that 181 days, 6 statements, or 6 months-date to date? My last CLI was 4/1/21.

Is there a CLI max? Any tips to maximize CLI amount?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

No worries, it's all good! So, in my experience, I always give it a few days just to make sure the request isn't premature (plus a couple days give or take isn't going to hurt anything). So, you can try the request on 10/2 (or 10/3) for good measure... so in about 12 days from now.

@KA14 My account is only 4 months old and I gave it the old college try 2 days ago and the message I got was >>>> Your account is too new !!!

@Bippy_33, I opened my CapOne card back in December and then asked for a CLI in May, if for no other reason than to see what might happen; they bumped me from $3,000 to $3,300. No worries, I didn't need the CLI so I was fine with it. Back in August my son's truck needed an entire new rear axle, differential and all, and a remanufactured unit cost just over $3,400 installed; yeah, Murphy's Law strikes again.

I asked for a CLI for a "one-time expense" and was denied due to how recent my previous CLI was. Annoying. In the end I put the charge on my TDCash card which paid rewards of about $17.00 less than what I would have gotten on my Quicksilver card. At this point I'm not planning on poking the bear again any time soon, so either they'll auto-CLI me some time next year or they won't; I honestly don't care either way.

@Horseshoez I pretty much knew that you have to have your account open 6 months before they'll consider a cli but, since they PC my platinum to Quicksilver in under 4 months I figured I'd give it a try so, no worries in the end because I had a good idea that it would be shot down anyway.

What FinStar said. You have run a lot of transactions and pay above minimum constantly. It is the system that decides and the computer service reps wouldn't able to help you once the system decided.
