Chase IHG Premier App 2 week under review

Hey everyone, long time lurking on the board but only my 2nd time posting. I applied yesterday (11/18/2021) for the Chase IHG premier and got the 30 day under review. Called the application check status after and it said I would be notified within 2 week. Checked again today (11/19/2021) and got the 7-10 day notice so I called chase recon line and they said I needed to unfreeze my Transunion credit report. I thought it was weird since I have always seen they pull Experian but I never got a notification that my Experian was pulled. I unfroze my transunion report and they pulled it. The analysts did tell me it has moved to the next stage and I would get a letter in the mail if they need verification within 2 weeks. A few hours later I finally get notification that they pulled my Experian report. Automated line still says 2 weeks under review. Could this be a good sign? This would be my first chase card.

I decided against going for a visa signature CSP since none of my current cards have an individual limits of $5,000 ( total limit on cards is $15,500) and it was my first chase card.

My FICO 8 scores are currently TU:711 EX:719 I'm sitting at 2/24 and 6% utilization. I do have 8-90 late payments ( 2 years old) on 8 student loans that were in deferment so no payment was due to make them 90 days late. 🤷🏻‍♀️😑

Yes, it's a good sign.

30 days == "we haven't looked at it throughly yet"

7-10 days == either"we're denying the application" or "we need something else from you and the app is stalled until we get it"

14 days/2 weeks == we're dotting i's and crossing t's, if nothing unexpected turns up we're looking at an approval"

Obviously in your case the 7-10 day message meant that they also wanted to pull TU in order to continue reviewing your application. It isn't unusual nowadays for Chase to pull reports from 2 of the CRAs when processing a card application so it's no shocker that they also pulled TU on you.

so if it is 2 weeks pretty much it will automatically be approved? if it is fraud or verification it would usually be 7-10 days?

2 weeks points to a good outcome but it isn't automatic. Data points have shown that while unusual it sometimes will revert back to 7-10 days with the final outcome a denial.

Verification will manifest itself as transitioning to 7-10 day status.
