Pre-qualified for Amazon Prime Visa Signature Card

I was recently looking for my 2nd card to add to my portfolio . I did the amazon prime visa signature pre-qualification and it came up as pre-qualified. I know it doesn't mean 100% approval , but it did have a APR of 22.24% .

5/24 status : 1/24

I have a checking/savings account with chase - paychecks and deposits regularly go there. Been banking with them for a few months.

My only CC is a DiscoverIT Student Cashback (5/21) with a 500$ CL.

15k/year income.

I still don't have a FICO score available , I'm assuming it'll be available next month or in January when my CC will be 7 months old. Pay my statement in full every month and utilization is 1% ( I let it report 1% and then pay it off and then report 0% ). I shop on Amazon A LOT, in fact, Amazon is my biggest spend category . Discover does have quarters with paypal(paypal key)/amazon, but having the amazon prime visa card would be a nice addition with the additional rewards and financing options.

My question is, should I go for it? I have 1 HP on TU (5/21 BofA) and no HP on EXP. I would like that 200$ gift card but thats not my main motivation , I just want another card to boost my score. OR should I wait a few months and increase my chances even more and not waste a HP? Any alternate options?

UPDATE : Went through with the application, saw the 30 days massage on the amazon page, got 2 weeks from automated status line. Pulled EXP. What could it mean?

UPDATE : Approved with 2.2k limit. Frustrating verification process with fraud dep.

@Cosmic7 Chase prequals are usually pretty solid. Banking with them may help the approval there are a few posts on here with people who have gotten Chase cards as their first card due to the relationship with chase. But if you want to boost your score you could look into capital one or even amex the both love thin files or go into your local chase branch and see if you have an preapprovals.

I wouldn't worry too much about a 2nd hard pull. Chase and Amazon are having a business equivalent of feeling each other out right now. I'd apply as they are approving outside of their 5/24 standard and at higher limits to show Amazon they still want to partner. I randomly applied a couple months ago and got approved with my 2nd biggest CL at 2000. I love it for the 5% on amazon, zero interest on purchases, and 5% at Fresh Market around the corner from my house

Just applied, pulled EXP (15 points) called app status, it immediately said 2 weeks. Fingers crossed but feeling confident. Will update the post accordingly.

Wow really. I checked again and it's telling me $100. I'll check my sisters account and see what they are giving her. And 2 weeks? Maybe they have to verify your identity.
