Comenity Store Cards --> Max Exposure Limit?

Hello~

I have a few Comenity cards that I used to get regular CLI's every 61 days or so.

For instance:

Jared/Kays had their own cli cycle

Ann Taylor/Express/Victoria Secret had their own cli cycles

Overstock had its own cycle

For the last three months I have not been able to get a CLI from either of these cards. Am I at my max exposure for Comenity?

Hi there

Are you carrying balances? If yes, are you making minimum payments? And these questions refer to ALL your CCs, not just Comenity.

Also, in this climate, IMHO, I would not continue to poke the bear. It may just open pandora's box. Just my 2cents.

I've been having the same issue. It's been over 6 months now since I have been able to get a CLI on any of my cards. All the letters say my limit was recently increased. Maybe they are just not giving them out right now.

I have an Express store Comenity card and I just got a CLI of $500 bringing my CL to $2400 with them. This is fairly recent.

Just adding some DP's to this; I'm in the same boat... have had CLI's like clockwork every 61 days on my Overstock & JCrew cards but last ones were in July; and that's with minimal to no-use on both.

Every attempt since then has been denied due to "recent increase to your CL" I'll try again at the 6 month mark to see if there has been in fact a change.

I was going to apply for a Comenity "Big Lots" card. But after reading all the posts on here it appears that Comenity just ran out of money LOL. I am glad that I did not apply. I came close but too many advised me against it so I backed off. I am sorry for your denial. maybe you should try a bank that has some money to lend.

I was able to get my regular 90 day CLI on Victoria's Secret last week. Will try Overstock and Sephora later this month as they both last had CLI in September....

Express $0/$2000

Ann Taylor $0/$2750

**I use both cards every month for work clothes, but pay off the balances in full before the statement cuts.

Victoria Secret $0/$1900

**I use this card sometimes for candles at Bath and Body Works, but when I do I pay the balance off in full b/f statement cuts.

Eddie Bauer $0/$2000

**Haven't used this card since Summer 2021 for hiking clothes. When I did I paid the balance off in full before statement cut.

Jared's $0/13,500

Kay's $0/10,500

**I made a purchase on both cards in July and paid them both off by August.

Ulta $0/$1800

**I buy make-up and/or hair products every other month or so, but pay it off before statement cuts.

...so as you can see, I don't cary a balance and I use the cards regularly. None of my other cards carry balances either except for the $25 I leave on my CU MC for AZEO.

Maybe Comenity is out of money like a previous poster said.

It's obvious they're not running "out of money" since they are still continuing to lend and approve new accounts. What they're running out of is retail partnerships and/or additional revenue streams as some retailers have exited their contracts, others have switched lenders and the rest have closed shop.

For your specific situation, it sounds to me like they've tightened their purse strings, which would make sense. Given that most of their store cards have been considered low hanging fruit for newer credit profiles and rebuilders alike, it's possible that the gravy train might be more selective or coming to an end for some, especially at CLI time.

Based on the limits and accounts you currently have, they seem to be at fairly decent limits, no?

So, what are the denial letters stating for each of the ones you've tried?

Hi, thanks for your input. I've stopped requesting CLI's but the last time I did I received the usual canned "You've recently got an increase..."

I too have been getting denied the past few times asking for a CLI so I decided to leave it alone.

For what it's worth my exposure on 2 Comenity cards is just under $40k

Hi, thanks for your input. I've stopped requesting CLI's but the last time I did I received the usual canned "You've recently got an increase..."

Then that response means you're applying too often. They may have changed the the CLI from say, 30 days, 61 days, to 6 months. I've gottne that response and waited longer and ask again and the CLI was granted.

Well this may be a data point that has recently changed. I know it's been over 6 months since my last credit limit increase yet I have not charged anything in about a year . Maybe we have to show a little spend over some time to warrant an increase because I doubt $4150 is the dry up point for this card .
