Don't know if this is the right forum to ask this. But for those who asked for the X1 invite, how long did it take for you to get the e-mail to apply?

I don't know that there is a definitive answer to this question. From what I have seen on the various threads re: X1, receiving the invite has been more random than structured and they stopped showing people what their number is on the waitlist. It's hard to gauge in what order they are going, I have a feeling they are also sending them based on stated income on the initial sign up for the waiting list. I have been waiting a few months at this point and I have seen others waiting longer. Good luck and I hope you get yours soon!

I signed up in Sept 2020, and my number was around 76,000. I tracked it periodically up until the end of Oct 2021, and it was 75,443.

No invite yet.

ETA that it went up and down in that timeframe. It wasn't a straight decline.

Based on what people are saying about waitlist number and invite - @Ilinferno might be correct.

X1 may be going off stated income and other responses when one was put on the waitlist.

I was lucky and got an invite beta preview code in October which allowed me to bypass the 65,xxx waitlist that I had for many months.

This forum sure has lots of great people who are helpful!

I can verify that they don't seem to be going in order of that original list. I didn't add myself to the waitlist last year and on-a-whim, I did within the last few months. I got an invite within a matter of weeks, although not sure of exactly how long. And as suggested above, I accurately reported a high household income, which may be the reason for the quick reaction. I've debated applying and they just notified me my invitation will expire soon if not used.

I just feel a little like this could be a flavor-of-the-month card that I later regret. It does seem to have some innovative features. The "5x average CL" in particular raises my curiosity about how high a SL they might allow, since higher limits is part of my strategy and interest. And I do like the premium polished metal card, TBH. Some of our members have been disappointed, however, in their SLs not being as high as expected, and my profile is such that I don't need the X1 to get a high limit. In my case, I doubt they would exceed my highest limit cards.

The rewards structure is a mixed bag for me. It can earn good rewards, but I highly dislike that to get 3%, there is a $15K spend requirement when I could earn that on other cards with no minimum, including my AOD FCU 3%. That's an average of $1,250 per month, not an insignificant sum if you're using multiple cards. I'm definitely not going to market the card to my friends to get that temporary 4%. And to even get the 2%, you have to be okay with non-cash redemption through partner websites for merchandise or services, which may or may not be spending you would have done organically or may not be the vendor offering the best price on similar products or services. This is sort of like a "points" system but you don't know how much value you will extract from a point since your mileage may vary from vendor-to-vendor based on their website pricing and product offerings. You may have to pay "full retail" price instead of being able to shop for bargains.

As tempting as it is to do the soft pull approval, it would also entail adding a new account to my credit report, and I've got other cards in mind that would be more useful. I gardened for 15 months and the only card I added since then was the AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant.

The X-1 issuing bank was finally revealed as Coastal Community Bank in Washington state. I tried to find the reference from the My Fico thread but another posting about that from a long-time member said that CCB had some complaints in the past. I'm not sure I know enough about them to want to have them servicing a credit card for me. Also, the fact that X-1, Inc is the "pseudo-issuer" and name on the card but that the servicing bank is a relatively small and new bank seems odd to me. [Per Deposit Accounts, Coastal Community Bank(link) ... is the 8th largest bank in the state of Washington. It is also the 452nd largest bank in the nation. It was established in 1997 and as of September of 2021, it had grown to 343 employees at 14 locations.] That seems to be a pretty small bank to be servicing a large nationally-promoted credit card.

Moreover, my biggest red-flag is having to agree to have PLAID access my banking account and apparently having to agree to allow my banking to continue to be monitored indefinitely. I'm a huge privacy advocate and feel like technology is prying more-and-more into our personal lives and our private data beyond what they should be entitled to do. In light of this, the relationship between X-1 and Coastal Community Bank and Plaid becomes more clear. At least at this point in time, it appears that X-1, INC is primarily a marketing organization to sell the card, collect user data, and market to cardholders. Per their Privacy Agreement, cardholders are not allowed to limit data collected and shared for marketing from X1.

So to quote one of my favorite shows, Shark Tank ...

For all of these reasons, I'm out.

9-20-20, Email confirmation, my number was 552794 on the wait list.

11-14-21, invitation to apply via Apple App - I add myself to the Android waiting list instead

12-01-21, Android app is available and I'm invited to apply

Not dying to get this card - but I recall going on the waiting list ~1-year ago when it was first introduced and still no sign of an invite.

I find it interesting not a peep from them at all - yet I am reading X1 invites and approvals all over the forum.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I put myself on the list at the beginning of the month and was actually surprised how fast I got an invite. I can't believe that they haven't got to you yet all things considered.

Haven't the slightest idea how they make the waiting list work.

All I can add, in the way of data, is that I signed-up in mid-July and received my invitation on 12/9. At that time, there was no way to check position on wait list. BTW: I listed income as $300K. Perhaps that mattered, in some way, as to prioritization.

When I signed up originally I was slightly above 256,000 I reported 7 figure income and have not seen an invite yet. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

There have been multiple threads in the last few months about issues with the X1 card from various forum members. As I noted in message 5 of this thread , while I personally don't recommend the card, I *DO* highly suggest anyone considering it to read >these thread links< I assembled in another thread.
