CAPITAL ONE CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE

What is the soonest you have requested and been approved for a Capital One credit limit increase after receiving a recent automatic increase. The automatic increase was generous but just not enough. Is there max amount increases that they give? Do they need to see how you manage the next level first. Anyone successfully done this?

First rule with capital one using a good portion of your limit on a consistent basis every month almost guarantees a credit limit increase every 6 months or at least that's what I always hear

Capital One is so annoying. i just applied for an increase yesterday and today i got the same message i get every time: recent use too low. But now i also had a returned payment, which apparently puts me in the dog-house for a year! It's not that i need the increase because i only use it for minor things, but it would be nice to get another limit. My last one was $300 last year by the way 🤣. so sad.

6 months.

I tried after an auto cli and they said time since last increase too soon.

Capital One Quicksilver One every six months auto credit increase. initial CL- 500 to 2000 to 5000 just recently.

Those are good cli's. what kind of spending did you put on the card and how did you pay? pif? after or before statement cut?

percentage of cl used per month?

Ive gotten a manual CLI the same day as the 6 month CLI on quicksilver.

ive gotten 3 CLI in 6 month on venture

but then ive gone a year without one on venture

Cap one walmart refuses to give me a cli

i have the best luck with CLI on cap one, but im spending a ton on those cards too.

does anyone know when the 6 month clock starts? Is it from the day you open your account, or when the first statement cuts? I opened my account June 9 2021 and as of today, December 14, it says my account is "too new"

I've always gone by when the statement cuts.

Usually 6 months, as others have said. I have asked for CLI a couple days shy of 6 months and been denied, then turned around and asked again a few days later and gotten approved. . . . But once in 2020 I got it in about 5 or 5.5 months (definitely less than 6, but not a whole lot less).

Thanks for the feedback. I opened my account June 6. First statement cut on July 7. I guess I'll wait until my statement cuts in January. I've tried a few times and I always get the "your account is too new" message. I called Cap1 and no one there seems to know when the 6 months starts lol. Kinda frustrating really. What can you do with a $300 limit??

I opened mine in (early) May, and I was rejected for a CLI in (late) November because my "account was too new".

I'm only making a fuss because my offer from then specifically said they'd review in 6 months for CLI. I can understand if I had missed a payment or a payment was returned, but every billing cycle closed with either a zero or credit balance. If I get the same response after my billing cycle closes in January, I'm gonna raise some hell 🔥

They were supposed to review mine after 6 months, as well. But like you, I'm still stuck at $300. Despite perfect payment history, and a couple months with very high usage.

Just applied for a CLI again. Got the you'll get an answer in 2-3 days reply. Though I'm less concerned than you about the outcome, because while I'd like to have a usable limit on my Cap1 card, I have a new card with a much higher limit.

Is that your Navy FCU AMEX? Would you mind sharing your CL and FICO score? I know someone who is willing to sponsor me for an account there, but have been researching their cards first.

My More Rewards SL is $8200, a more than 27 times increase over my Cap1 CL. I don't know my TU9 score at the time I applied (that's the score they pull), but my TU8 was 784. My scores are mostly due to an AU card.

You don't need a sponsor to join Navy Fed. You need a military affiliation, though they're not particularly strict. A dead grandfather who served in the military qualifies.

This sponsor should be immediate family or a roommate. That's the only legitimate way to join.
