I'm very curious about this question, what problem are you trying to solve by not giving them your real phone number? My guess is they have a database of disposable number providers that they don't allow to prevent fraud.

I have an X1 card and they have my mobile and "home" phone numbers on file. My "home" is through a VoIP provider and they didn't flag it as being problematic. Of course, my mobile is the primary number and that's through a typical carrier.

There are a number of websites that let you lookup what carrier is associated with a given phone number, I tried a work one that is associated with a Google Voice through Google Workspace and it clearly comes up as Google Voice / Bandwidth.com.

During my X1 application process, I noticed it would not accept my Google Voice number as it is VoIP based. I can get around this by getting a temporary non-Voip phone number. I plan to use smspoo* service to pay per transaction site for sending/receiving sms.

But once application is approved and I receive the card, will it still block me from using GV number for receiving day-to-day notification and login authentication?

If you have any experience with VoIP numbers, please share. Thank you.
