Question about Wells Fargo active cash CLI Request

I've had my Wells Fargo active cash since September 1st 2021 and will be applying for a cli soon. I have a $6000 limit but been carrying around a $2000 balance that I pay every month. Would it help to apply for a cli with the balance or would it be better to pay it off before asking for an increase?

It really doesn't matter, you can request one as long as you've had the account open for at least 6 months. They'll let you know whether there are any available offers (via SP), otherwise it will be HP.
