Have been in a rebuild over the past 2 years. Have raised my TU scores from the high 400's to over 677 with EE. Have a couple more to go that will fall off by October with EX and EQ. Yay!

After seeing my TU score shoot up, I felt confident enough to press the Love Button on the NFCU app. Received the 24 hour message. Found out today I was declined.

Should have done more research that CLI on NFCU is EQ vs TU.

Not sure if I should apply for a new card with NFCU, hoping that they use TU or just go back to the "Garden"

Wanting to add another card to my portfolio. Any suggestions appreciated. (Only have 1 hard pull in 12 months.)

TIA

JBH

Honestly I don't think it really matters between bureaus when requesting cli, albeit sp, with Navy as normally your internal score probably plays a bigger role in determining one's cli availability, though no science to back this up lol. If you are eligible they will grant what they feel they can . If not, not end of the world, just try again next month. Sometimes persistence pays off.

It does. Plenty of CLI denials have been reported where a CR [SP] made such a difference. Their algorithms take into consideration internal score, account performance + other factors.

In the OP's case, as noted upthread, it's possible they can be approved for another NFCU CC -- all things considered.

Lol I stand corrected though I guess I was just trying to get across my feeling that sometimes just going for a cli, and not depending on all the data points or reasons that may or may not determine a denial or approval, is how one can go when dealing with Navy. Right or wrong that's how I go for cli with Navy and though I've been denied plenty I've also been approved when science, dps, and other factors obviously says should not my specific profile I should ever have achieved what I have so I place a lot in faith and winging it. Don't be like me
