What are my approval odds for a US Bank credit card?

Can anyone give me a general idea of what my approval odds are for a US Bank credit card? Are they inquiry/account sensitive and if so would that affect me with the below stats? Also, my main purpose of acquiring one is for the intro 0 apr on purchases. With that being said, which card is best? I am providing the below info to assist:

Fico 8 scores ALL in “very good” range:

Equifax 752

Transunion 763

Experian 741

I have 8 active cards total, the 3 newest that are less than 1 year old were opened as noted below:

CITI DC 5/7/21

Discover chrome 8/8/21

Amazon Chase 12/21

I have 8 inquiries, 1 of which will fall off in may 2022

I'm not really an expert but I'm pretty sure they're sensitive to new accounts and inquiries.

@Anonymous I believe that they are similar to Chase and that 5/24 is their limit. I'm not 100% on ?/12. Hopefully others will chime in. Search out the info there is plenty on here. Good luck.

Unfortunately, the odds don't look very favorable, OP.

The scores are perfectly fine and within range. It's the recent new accounts in the past 12 months + the inquiries that may not bode well with UW. There's always outliers, but perhaps your chances may fare a little better with US Bank's sister, ELAN.

A few months after i got my discover it last june they offered me 12 months zero interest on purchases. try calling discover and see if they have any offers for your account, its worth a try.

SUPERSQUID: already did that almost 1 year ago. Set to resume to normal APR soon, that's why I'm shopping. Will Amex offer a zero APR rate for 1 year like discover did if I contact them? Who else will offer that? Thanks!

I got approved for US bank cards this month with my score and about a number of inquiries and new accounts.

Most cases US bank does lot like to see more then 2 inquires in past 12 months. Your post is lacking infor for us to give better idea if you could over come the number inquires you have, such as income and what the credit limits are on your other account and what are the balances reporting cb. Ther is lot more that goes into credit decision then Fico scores.

From all that I have read on the MyFico forums they tend to be extremely sensitive to both new accounts and inquiries. Many people say no more than 1 or 2 new accounts within the last year with the best odds being if you have 0 new accounts in the last 12 months. Also many recommend 0 to 2 inquiries in the last 12 months. I was approved in December 2021 for the Cash + at 0/13 and 0 inquiries in the last 12.

The following comments are my personal opinions only and I am not representing them as facts.

US Bank is a very good bank for checking/savings/investments but I would steer clear of the credit card products. They have a high denial rate and not the best rewards structure.

Reagrding your concerns I would say it depends. Could be a denial or could be an approval. Keep in mind the SL might be very low which of course that word low is subjective. To me low is anything under $5K which is almost a certenty with US Bank.

When my GF applied last year which I advised against lol she got approved for $750 which made me laugh. You are not able to even pay rent or anything with that limit. She has a thick deep credit profile with zero baddies and 3% overal utilization. She had 1 new account in 12 months and 3 in 24. She had a total of 3 inquires per Credit Agency. She has never received a CLI and against my advice even called customer service and took a hard pull and was denied.

However, you kight get approved for an amazing limit with no issues but it's a big gamble with them. Best of luck though!!

If you really have your heart set on a US Bank card, my best advice would be to open an account, at a branch and befriend the branch manager.

This is one big bank where relationships really do matter -- the endorsement and internal submission of credit card applications by a manager who is willing to "go to bat" for you can make all the difference. I'm speaking from years of experience with US Bank and their practices.

Of course, if you live in an area ouside of their retail banking footprint, you're out of luck.... Many states have no branches at all.
