Since this card seems to be all the rage these days I thought I'd provide some DP's on my denial.

Got the invite about a week ago and applied and was denied after I entered my info. Did not link bank accts or anything.

Reason provided:

Too many past or present delinquent credit obligations with others

All of my delinquencies are due to fall off within the next 2 years as they are all 5+ years old. Zero collections and all baddies other than lates have been removed. I only have 1 120 day late and 3 or so 90 day's, and the rest of my profile is great. I have other cards with 5 figure limits that have excellent history.

Income: 120k

EX Score: 726

The denial was a SP as well.

I'm sorry about your denial; the X1 card requires a clean credit report for an approval. My baddies were due to fall off in a few months and I got the same kind of denial.

It seems they are particularly unforgiving with lates. I have read of approvals with various other baddies, however, lates seems to always result in a denial with them.

Sorry for your denial...seems weird that a card being trumpted as a new way of working with credit would be that harsh on lates.

Credit scores already get killed by lates, so curious that a product that claims to be taking into account more than just your scores would be so harsh with lates. Might as well just use the scores lol
