fnbo Evergreen if have fnbo secured card?

Cards in my signature. Long story short, every card I've app'd recently showed no approval when attempting "soft pull" approval. But I was luckily, thankfully, greatfully approved. loll...In hindsight, I should've app'd the Evergreen for a regular card, instead of going with the "secured." But at the time, I didn't have many of my newer, higher limit cards and so I thought, what the heck, new trade line. And that's how I ended up with the secured card. And so my questions are as follows:

1. Now that I have the "secured" fnbo card. Does that restrict/bucket my SSN/profile into something to where if I try to app the Evergreen, I'll be denied? Because the computer sees I have a secured?

2. What are my chances of being approved for Evergreen before my secured card graduates? Let's say in 6-7 months? (btw don't mind waiting just wondering, I've had the card for 3 months now)

3. Any strategies here? Or do i just wait, then the secured becomes (maybe) a $1000 limit, and then I try to app a regular card? It doesn't graduate to an Evergreen correct?

Thank you for any insights!

In my case, the credit limit and APR they offered in the prequal exactly matched what they gave me when I formally applied.

Though FNBO seems to be fairly fraud-sensitive, so they might ask for additional verification information.

I was curious since most of my current cards were gotten after disregarding that I didn't have any offers and then pulling the trigger. Guess, I got lucky.

I would check the prequal at least once a month no matter what, maybe even every couple of weeks.

My first prequal was for a $8,800 limit, after a month or so it jumped to $10,000 on the prequal and sure enough when I applied I got a 10k SL.

Another thing is, just because a secured card hasn't graduated doesn't mean you don't meet the UW criteria for another card.

If your profile supports what you are trying to do go for it.

Great advice and that's kind of what I was curious about as well. Or perhaps "hoping" is the better word. lol.. Sure, I can garden and wait, no biggie as this is a marathon. But.... I have a suspicion that my profile "could" support it and my profile is certainly better than it was when I app'd that card. I got lucky with my new apps as I guess my Fico 9s or Bankcard 9s were decent enough to get me approvals. Or perhaps it was because they pulled from the right bureaus, in my case, TU and EX were higher.

In any case, if I had to do it again, I would've disregarded the soft pull pre-qual and chanced the hard pull on a regular approval. Would've preferred a smaller limit on an Evergreen than having to go the long route if given a choice, but who wouldn't? And so I've been really curious as to what would happen if I app'd again, lets say 5-6 months from now, with an improved profile, but with an un-graduated card.

Definitely planning to check the pre-qual monthly as you'd mentioned.

Yes, I'm thinking after the secured (hopefully) graduates app'ing the Evergeren. For fun, I guess I'll try the softpull pre-approval along the way. Glad to hear some more anecdotal evidence that the secured "doesn't shorhorn you." Looking back, I'm glad I opened the card. At the time I didn't know I'd have some of the other cards I have now and we can all, only, do our best to run this marathon the right way. lol...
