Urgent - Amex CLI Bank Statement Request - CLI - Help

Ok, we finally got up the guts to ask for CLI on wife's Amex Prefered Blue.

Here FICOs are right at 800.

Had $30k limit, charge $3k-$4k per month.

Paid off each month. Carried a balanced during 0% offer. Pay off each month again.

Paid off last month again before asking for CLI. Currently have $1k balance not due for 3 weeks.

Asked for $40k (I know). Instantly approved for $35k. The $35k showed immediately in available credit.

THEN I get an email...

"we need additional info to proceed with our review...3 bank statements..."

We don't really want to provide this.

Does this mean that they want the bank statements to go to $40k or will they revoke the $35k?

Can this affect the $30k?

Can this turn into a FR?

Is this a big deal?

I did not lie about income ($150k) but I take A LOT out of our checks before deposited.

Advice and knowledge requested before wife kills me...

It won't lead to FR, that's a different animal.

It is possible request was generated since Amex could only accommodate it partially, so if I was a betting woman (I'm not, too frugal), id say this is about raising limit to $40K.

If you ignore it, it will stay at $35K

I'm fairly sure I'm right, so relax now, I can feel some tense 1s and 0s

Remy is spot-on. I have received dozens of those IV letters. I have ignored every single one. There are zero consequences.

Financial Review is a Very Big Deal. These income verification requests are not.

This is very helpful to know for the future. I am thinking of asking for a CLI to $50k from my $31.6k on my BCE around the 91 day mark. Wonder if they will do something similar to me.

Yes, you will be prompted to do IV.

They may or may not make counter offer like they did here. They may not increase it at all without IV.
