I prequalified but the last time I had a redcard I got a $500 limit that never grew. Was hoping the prequal would offer a limit but no dice.

I doubt that you would be allowed to have a Store and a MC.

You might be able to have one of the above and a debit Red card..

Is the PreQual site only for the store card?

I am prequalified but it just states for the RedCard Credit Card.

They have the debit card and the credit card. The credit card can be the store only version or the MasterCard version if you’re lucky.

So the prequal site just tells you that you are prequalified for one of the cards but not which one?

Target Financial allowed one to have two cards but I am not sure about TD bank.

I got an email from Target today and I decided to read the fine print at the bottom and it says this:

Not sure if this is out of date or only applies to me.

I know about the recent approvals that's why I looked at the fine print in the email I got from Target today. I think what is written in the email might be out of date.

I have had a target store card for probably 5 years or so. I never use it. It currently has a 500$ limit. It did go up to $1500 but went down to $500 when covid started.

I did the prequalify and was prequalified. I went ahead and did the full ap hoping for the CC and was given the 7 day notice. I have not had any hard INQ's to my reports so i am assuming i was preapproved for the store card again and when i went to apply they saw i already had it and a denial letter will be coming my way soon.

Interesting. I can't speak to the verbiage in their emails but I see at the bottom of the prequal link they now have added "may not be" to the verbiage

I'm still trying to figure out how to get Target to extend a MC to me. At this point, I think it would take closing my current account and reapplying, as nothing else seems to work.

I LOVE Target but this whole issue with whether or not they will issue an MC is too much for me. I'll stick with applying for cards where I know what I will get when I am approved. I have a Target debit card which gives me the 5 percent. I'm not willing to risk getting one of their store cards when I really want their MC.
