Balance Transfer offer from Discover upon asking?

I have Discover card for a few years but got no CLI...not even once...despite of good spending all the time. A few members suggested that they got CLI once they did BT when they were experiencing pretty much the same like I am. So, I wanna do BT with Discover just for the sake of getting CLI but I have no any offer for BT....Do you guys had BT offers or called to get it? Do you think if I call them, they would offer me when there is nothing showing up on my account? Tnx

I believe you have to have a current offer on your account , I don't believe you can call though but it's worth a shot .

Like JNBMOM said you cant just call in and request a bt offer they have to extend one to you.

You can check your account page online to see if you have an offer or you can call them and ask if you have an offer.

My experience with my 2 discover cc's is they dont always send bt checks or notify you that you have an offer. A couple of times i had offers and no checks, once i didnt know i had an offer.

Thanks for your response, however, I believe JNBMOM did suggest calling them to try if it could work out. I did call them a few hours ago...rep had put me on hold to get ok from her supervisor to extend the offer...and came back to offer me two different kinda BT offers...and she said that offers would appear within 2 business days on my online account.

I had another Discover card for 11 years until 4 yrs ago which they closed down for non-activity. So, I know that Discover normally doesnt send BT checks nor notify us that there is an offer for us...

Besides calling you can check your online Discover card account page.

Click on the balance transfer tab and it will tell you instantly if you have an offer.

Sometimes when you first log in via computer a pop up will appear showing you a current offer, i've had a few of those.

It doesnt hurt to call them and also check online, no downside so why not.

OOOOPS, somehow i didnt read the post where you said they gave you 2 offers, please excuse my mistake.

Usually one offer is 12 months at zero with a bt fee and the other is a longer period to pay back at a flat low interest rate and a bt fee.

No, you have to wait for them to offer it.

I wouldn't do one just for the purpose of getting a CLI. No one knows what goes on in the minds of the Discover folks about CLI's.

I wouldn't do one just for the purpose of getting a CLI. No one knows what goes on in the minds of the Discover folks about CLI's.

I think if you can utilize a BT with disco then take it pay it down and they may reward with CLIs.

My card barely moved I took a BT offer and gained 8.5 in CLIs in a 90+days then the train came to a screeching halt . But not a bad haul and I truly believe the BT helped with that , but I did gain from using the BT as well.
