I already have the debit card, and was looking to add the card to my wallet to earn what equates to cash back in the form of Disney Rewards Dollars to reinvest back into the mouse. I had burned chase for $5K in the past in 2015, and it is unpaid so even though it is off my report (I know how well Chase's memory is) I don't have very high hopes. When I applied I got the dreaded 7-10 day message, which robo-lady is confirming. When I applied, I got emails about only TU being pulled so that is what I'll put below. Do you think I have a chance if I get a letter in my Chase portal saying I was denied and I call recon in the morning?

FICO: 689 (as of 5/8)
Inquiries: 8 (7 are from when I car shopped, will fall off in November this year)

Utilization: 23%
AAoA: 2 years, 8 months

Accounts: 9 cards, 1 auto loan
Payments: 99% on time

Currently at 3/24
No derogs.

How do you have no derogs if you burned Chase for 5k in 2015?

What's the missed payment looking like?

Based on these stats you might be able to squeeze in an Elan Max Cash Preffered

As to Chase they're usually pretty lenient so long as you're under 5/24. It all comes down to what is that missed payment imo

Normally when I call I'm asked why I want the card, explain any negative info on my report, etc. When I called, the anaylist only confirmed I wanted a recon, and that he put me on hold for 10 minutes or so, coming back every so often so say he was working on it, before coming back on the line and said he sent it off for further review. Said I will hear back within 24 hours, and to call on Monday if I hadn't heard anything by then. After an hour or so, I called to check and the robo-lady message changed from 7-10 days to two weeks! All things considered, I'm fairly confident that I'll be approved.

Update: I called into recon today like the anaylst said to since I hadn't heard anything by today. The CSR said that the application is still pending, but that they'll notate that I called today and request expedited processing. I hope I get approved, because this card would be awesome to have during my trip to Disneyland Paris next week! Robo-lady is still saying two weeks, so I am remaining hopeful.

Update: Called in today again because I hadn't heard anything, and robo-lady was saying the same two week message. When I called into recon, the robo-lady gave a slightly different two week message. I spoke with the CSR, and they said that my application was still in process. When I expressed my desire to have this card for my trip to Disneyland Paris next week, they gave me a number for Lending Services, and advised me to give them a call.

I called Lending Services, let her know that my app is still pending, and advised that I am going to be flying to Disneyland Paris on June 14th, wondering if there was any information I could provide or anything I could do to assist with the application because I would really love to have the card for the trip. After verifying that it was a personal application, she sent me a verification text and said that it was indeed still pending and that at this time they did not need anything from me. She said that I am welcome to call Lending Services directly from time to time to check up on the status, but that I will get either a decision or request for more info in 1-2 weeks. And now we go back to waiting.

I'm just throwing this out there. The info may be helpful. Disney's point system kind of sucks. You're better off with a 2% card, at the very least you probably would make more cash back, but if you're getting the card for all the park perks like percentages off of the Disney store and photo ops in the park because you're a Disney Visa card holder, Chase has a Disney debit card attached to their checking account that you get all those perks. You may wanna look into getting that for your trip to France, so you at least have some thing if you want those perks. Enjoy your trip!!!!

I already have the debit card, so I already get the discounts & perks that you're mentioning. What I am looking for in the credit card is the 6 months special financing option for Disney vacations (would be amazing if I could finance my annual pass interest free this way haha), and premier cardholders get a metal card when they choose the 100 years of wonder design. The new design Disney released is honestly one of the biggest reasons why I am going for this card, if I were honest. My Platinum SkyMiles card from American Express's AF is $250, so the $49 AF for the Premier Visa is honestly child's play to me.

This kind of comes as a shock for me, since the anaylist seemed pretty positive when I spoke with them, & robo-lady was saying two weeks for the longest time. If I called recon, would they be able to explain the reasons for denial? They're not really making any sense for me.

As a fellow Disneyphile who has the regular Chase card, I still don't get how the perks are so inferior to their other cobranded cards like Amazon. They at least have a decent SUB currently, which they didn't when I got it years ago, but now I only use it if going to Orlando but not having an annual pass because the passholder discounts are so superior. And the card itself doesn't accrue the one-off perks like, for example, the Amazon card's 4% cash back on dining and gas through July 31. I ended up shifting most of my Disney CL to my Amazon and Freedom Unlimited cards that I use more.

Update: I called into recon again because the reasons stated in the recon denial (in my opinion) did not match what was in my credit profile. I spoke with a very nice analyst who after sending me a verification text, pulled up my application and asked about my current cards, a line of credit I have through Upstart, my car loan through Wells Fargo, etc. I explained how while I was in Europe, I primarily used my SkyMiles card from Amex for travel oriented rewards, how a lot of vendors only took Visa/MC, and how I was really looking for another Visa in my wallet with more travel oriented rewards. After about a half hour while on hold, the call dropped. I was about to call back, when I thought to check my email, and there was a "Congratulations! Your new credit card is approved" email in my inbox! I logged into the Chase app, and my card was already there with a $2,000 SL.

Scores in my sig are current as of this post. Can mods please move this thread to approvals? I am over the moon at being back in the Chase ecosystem.
