Amex AU and CC denied But not blacklist ?

Hi Good Evening Everyone,

Coming back to forms for some guidance, I Recently tried to be added to my girlfriends Amex CC and was denied without a reason just stating to call the number to find out the reason and after calling they said it was due to my bankruptcy and when i asked about the famous "Blacklist" the rep didnt know what i was talking about.

So i decided to call the CS line for Amex and got asked if i wanted to apply with a soft inquiry so i pulled the trigger and the reason for being denied again was bankruptcy nothing else so my question is, Does this mean im not blacklist ? my current scores are low for the required for the Amex CC

Did you burn Amex on your BK? I know people that couldn't even get AU's due to burning Amex on their spouses account, etc. Likely to you burnng them if I was just to guess vs. you having a BK although I could be wrong.

Yes i did burn them on a BK7 but had a perfect record with PIF with them from 2018-2022

Appreciate the answer a burn is a burn regardless. Will take anywhere from 10-20 years or longer to get your own card with them or even to be an AU on a card with them that you aren't even responsible for paying. Amex has different memory for different people depending on many factors and 2022 wasn't long a go so I would circle back in about 2032 to be quite honest with you.

Other fish in the sea as nothing will change it unless you pay them back which isn't required nor can they ask you by law, but many have seen success in doing such a thing. Although Amex does have a 5 year BK rule as well even if you didn't burn them in the BK

If your GF has another CC she is willing to add you as an AU on I would suggest that route for you.

Going to be honest not the news i wanted to hear lol but appericate the reponse and as far as being added to other cards i think im good since i have 7 CC Post BK7 non Secured but my dream would be to have Amex on my wallet again but i guess i would have to forget about for a very long time.

I recently got back in with AmeeX after my BK at around the 7 year mark. I attempted numerous times to get back in and was rejected. I burned them for about 3500. I even called them about possibly paying them them money back but the representative was unable to tell me how I could do this. So about a couple weeks latter I tried again and was surprisingly approved for their PC Card.

realitely small burn amount. Suprised they they let you in still at 7 year mark even though. A lot of getting back in and how quickly appears to be associated with how back they got hit as well
