USAA - Cash Rewards Visa - Data Points/Advice Requested

I am a member of USAA (got membership through my late wife, who was a member for 30+ years). They handle my car/home insurance and I have a checking account with them with about $25 (I do all of my banking through NFCU and have investements/trusts at Morgan Stanley). I've thought about applying for one of their CC for some time and today I got an email from them for their Cash Rewards Visa (the sub is nothing and it's 1.5% CB). I've got better cards, but I know from my wife's experience they can be pretty good once you have an established relationship with them. I called the CS line and found out it's only a pre-qual not a pre-approval, but I wanted to check to see if anyone could provide additional data points to help me decide if it was worth it to apply. You can see my cards in my signature (along with CL) - I have about 20% util (soon to be down to less than 10%) and I have been gardening for the past 6 months unitl I'm 61 months post BK7 (July 2024), so I can try my luck with AMEX (since Citi and Chase are not options for the forseeable future).

I've never dealt with USAA for CC, but my research shows that they're pretty conservative and not BK friendly (mine was in 2019). I don't want to waste a HP and either get denied or get a low limit (as soon as I'm in with AMEX I'm going to cull 2 of my low limit Cap 1 - since I reallocated the CLs, and one of my Discover) just to thin the herd a bit.

Anyone got any data points or feedback? Thanks in advance.

I am a USAA member, and I do have this card. It is a solid 1.5% cash back card with rewards applying shortly after purchases but there are better cards out there.

There are better cards out there and you can't product change once you choose a card. I got my USAA card during my rebuild and just hold onto for age at this point.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to hold off for now and continue to garden. I have opened about 7 cards in the past 2 years and need those inquiries to age off before I do anything else! (expect, applying for Amex in 6 months).
