AMEX - no instant approval but wants to speak with me?

So I just got approved for a business Simply Cash AMEX so I thought I would try for the BCE on my personal account (since they pull the same information) but I got a

- Thank You for applying for the Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express.

In order to provide you with an instant decision, we need to speak with you - message. Has anyone had experience with this and if so, what was the outcome when you spoke to them? I'll call them shortly to discuss, but I was hoping to hear some positive feedback prior to doing so! Is this a bad thing?

Application has to be approved manually because there were two applied for within the same week. Had to verify information to make sure I wasn't an imposter trying to get the card. Of course now there is the waiting game for a couple of days to find out if it will be approved. Does anyone know if they will email to let you know it was approved or will you just receive a card (or notice if denied)?

They should send you a congratulations email within a couple days (or sooner) and you can also check the status progress online Good luck! I think you'll get it

Call them; likely just a verification. Not an all out denial so I'd say you're most likely in the clear.

I'll be going back into the garden after this with the plan of not getting any new credit until at least next year when my baddies "fall off" (assuming of course that I don't go full time with my business this year!)

The "Congrats" are for the OP's SimplyCash approval. The personal BCE, however, is still pending for the OP.

Had simular situation after applying a day apart for cards. First was instant approved, second required call for verification due to the time between applications. First was instant approved for 15K and second approved while talking to them for verification for 15K. Calling is the thing to do.

I have not heard anything more about the BCE card as of yet. They told me I should have an answer by Tuesday. I'm hoping i haven't heard yet just because it's the weekend??
