For my own purposes, I'm going through DoctorOfCredit's "Which Credit Bureau Does Chase Pull" page and collecting some comments.

Why not just let them pull what they want that way they get the best picture and an extra HP being two vs 1 isn't the end of the world and have min. impact on a persons overall profile as it is just a HP. Sure it is nice knowing which CRA a bank will likely pull to expect accordingly but at the end of they day places like Chase will pull whom they want and isn't always geo based either whether a single or a double or even the dreaded triple pull possibly. To your other questions some lenders certainly pull more bureaus primary or also secondary (sage/innovis and many others) to get a better picture of the applicant in these time of elevated charge off as the more you know about someone the better your risks likely are when considering them for a credit product

I have seen chase pull diffrent reports for the same card from different areas of the state. I am guessing if you try and freeze a report and that was the one they want they will just decline it. Good Luck

I know the last post here was over a year ago, in July 2024, but the other most recent post I saw was from 2023, and I didn't want to re-ignite that one. So, I thought here would be good.

Anyhow, I was curious who Chase was pulling now, since the last time I apped for a Chase card and they double pulled me (Transunion and Equifax) in Oregon.

However, I read in this thread (and the other) it was Experian for a lot of people. So, I unfroze Experian and tried for a pre-approval. It told me it couldn't pre-approve me because my credit bureau was locked, but I could unlock it by... and they reference only TransUnion.

So, I froze Experian again, always had Equifax frozen, and unfroze TransUnion. And, low and behold, it pre-approved me and would let me app. So, the data point: Oregon looks like they're now happy to just pull TransUnion.
