Chase Amazon Denial...Recon...Denial

Decidee to go ahead and throw a hard inquiry away and applied for the Chase Amazon Visa.

Denied for Bankruptcy on my credit report, I expected this.

Called in for Recon, spent about 25 minutes on the phone with a very nice rep from underwriting, explained the reasoning behind BK (failed business due to fraud by a partner), how well I have handled credit since, blah blah blah.

She put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back, denied again. This time for too much available credit.

I knew the hard inquiry was a long shot gamble but decided to do it anyway.

I think this is DP that most people are not aware. We are all familiar with Chase 5/24 rule, but I strongly believe that Chase has updated or newer underwriting guidelines that are Not widely known. Based on my recent Recon with Chase back in April , I suspect they are not comfortable approving new accounts if your total available credit across all lenders listed on your credit report is greater than half of your annual household income that you put on your application.

I'm going out on the limb to say it's more of a passion and addiction to acquire credit lines, at least it is for me.

Like you, I have been denied a few times recently. I'm good with that. Until next time. May just wait out the next 12 or 24 months.
