Wells Fargo One Key Card Denial

I've been applying for the One Key card through Expedia for the past 4 months and I get a letter saying that they can't approve me because of my bankrutcy on file.

I never had a credit card through them before.

My bankruptcy was finalized in January of 24.

I could call them at this point but I figured I would get more answers on here.

They denied you because you have a recent BK.

They tend to be more in the conservative side .

You don't have to have had a card from WF IIB in order to be denied based on the BK reporting on your record.

My only point of reference with WF post-BK is my experience with the WF BILT card. I was approved for a 30K SL 21 months after my DC. Mine was a 13 and I IIB WF.

Do their prequal test every six months but dont hold your breath, sorry

Hi OP,

I was denied for this card as well.

On a recent trip we booked, I told the wife if she wanted to apply and she did and got approved. I told her to add me as an AU and I was approved as an AU.

AMEX - They didn't approve me as an AU due to Ch13 Discharged in 10/2024.

I've prequalified for this card a couple of different times I've checked, never pulled the trigger though. My BK7 is pushing 4 years post DC now and I did not have WF IIB

I just checked the prequalification tool, and was prequalified for a SL of 18K.

Think I'll pass.

@ChameleonBob I was approved for a One Key Card in August 2024, slightly over 4 years after my C7 BK, which included Wells Fargo. I had been pre-approved multiple times before I decided to apply. They gave me a starting limit of 9k, which remains the same to this day. Love the card!

Wells can be picky. Do you have an account there? They seem to be the only big bank that favors existing customers. They offer a $400 bribe for checking,

I don't have an existing account and have heard of this. I just use Expedia a lot and wanted extra bonuses. I will wait until January 26 to see if I pre-qualify.
