So I'm currently 6/24 so CSR is out of the question (unless Chase lets me open a new account with existing credit, does anyone have any data points on this for getting around the 5/24 rule). So really Amex Platinum or Citi Strata Elite at this point for my premium travel card. These are my current data points. Citi recently did approve me for the Costco Anywhere Visa with a 681 (I'm not sure how, I thought I had a 702 when I applied) in July 2025 and I also recently got a personal loan for $4K in July as well. My FICO score is better of than when I got the Costco Visa but I do know Citi is particularly senstive to inquries and new accounts. Should I be looking more at the Amex Platinum Card? (Eventually I would like the CSR as my premium travel card and the Amex Green isn't really ideal for me but I can downgrade the Citi Strate Elite to one of Citi's no annual fee cards so I'd prefer to go with the Citi Strate Elite. What do you guys think of my current credit profile?

Experian FICO 8 - 700

Inquries - 3/6, 10/12, 16/24

New Account - 1/6, 2/12, 6/24 (credit cards), 1/6 (loans)

Credit History - 1 year 6 months

Late Payments - 0

Credit Usage - 20% (9% with AU accounts)

Debt to Income - 16%

Hello!

Based on your credit profile, your odds for the Citi Strata Elite are low due to recent inquiries and new accounts, while your chances for the Amex Platinum MyMilestoneCard are slightly better but still not ideal with a 700 FICO score. The best strategy is to wait and avoid applying for either card for now. The Chase Sapphire Reserve is not an option as you are over the 5/24 rule, and there's no way around it. Focus on letting your credit profile improve and aging your new accounts until you are below the 5/24 limit before you apply for the CSR.

Amex did approve me for the BCP with a FICO 8 697. My only issue with the Amex Platinum is that I also want the Gold Card so I'd need to go for that first to get the SUB. I've been told the Costco Visa you'd need like a 750 but apparently I got approved with a SCL of $4,100 with a 681 (I thought I was applying with a 702). But thank you for your opinon. I'm looking at getting the Gold Card next and then its Platinum or Strata Elite from there.
