Synchrony - how long do they blacklist for bankruptcy?

I had a number of Synchrony that were included in my CH7 BK. They were heavily burned. I used their pre-approval to see what they'd say. Received this denial reason - Prior unsatisfactory obligation with Synchrony Bank. It's been 3 1/2 years since DC. I'm very established with credit since then. All scores are approaching 700. How much longer will they hate me?

There doesn't seem to be a specific timeframe, people have reported getting back in after burning them but it could be a few years ( or longer ). I think you can just keep apping / checking pre-approvals from them, don't believe they'll even pull your credit if you are still on their naughty list.

Buddy of mine burned Sync for about $31K in there BK7 he said he just started to get preapprovals again from Sync he is 4 years past his BK7. as someone else has said there is no certain time frame. Im assuming if they are not to mad about u burning them u will start seeing them at the 4 year mark just keep trying.

I too burned SYNCB heavily in my BK7 probably north of $50k ish IIRC. I'm more than 5yrs post DC but still get declined on prequals/apps and cited for the same reason as yours. Funny thing is the only accounts I've been able to get approved for is PayPal (twice) and Venmo Visa every other product is declined for past unsatisfactory relationship.

I burned Synchrony, PayPal Credit. Settled with them. In less than 2 years, I was able to get Synchrony Venmo card. I haven't applied for other Synchrony cards.

It depends on how willing they are to get over it. Synchrony is known as a lender that does sub-prime lending. They will get around to thinking about letting you back in. It is way easier to let $10 slide compared to $100,000.

If you really want a card and you are doing decent then perhaps you should try Comenity, the other sub-prime lender. They have the AAA Daily Advantage Visa that is rather good for groceries.
