Alot of people like them from what I read on here. So far they have been pretty amateur to me. I applied for a credit card Denied letter came. Only reason listed was ineligible for membership into credit union i have been a member for 2 years. Chatted with a Rep she said she saw that notation and it didn't make sense I'm definitely a member. She gave me a reference number and re submitted it to underwriting.🙈

I joined a year ago with just savings in anticipation of using some of their products, including the CC. Went in early this year, or late last year and added checking and other savings accounts. The lady I first dealt with was less than helpful and didn't really know their own products. Even told me the paperwork she gave, which wasnt accurate, didn't matter if it was wrong or not. Finally, when they couldn't connect to my bank I decided to walk away. When I closed everything, the teller was very well aware they weren't able to connect with USAA.

One of the products I was really interested in was auto savings type of thing, which granted higher limits in the HYSA. The second gentleman I spoke to after the first lady explained it was rolled out, but never really worked so they had to get rid of it.

The problem with every credit union of which I've ever been a member -- excepting Navy Federal -- is that they're all very .... amateurish. This is one of the downsides of dealing with CUs. Online banking doesn't work, reps don't know what they're talking about, weird decisions come out of nowhere. Pretty bad, most of them.

UPDATE: I just applied, and was approved, for a Langley FCU "Free Checking" account and they seem ok. Decent application process and app. We'll see...

@Pppoolboy I have had good experiences with credit unions . My checking and most my savings is in a credit union. My checking account is in a credit union in Huntsville AL and I live in Los Angeles CA. Prior to that I banked with Discover and Ally. So I have no need of a bricks mortor bank to go into. I have not been inside a bank or a credit union in years. I had banked with Langley it was not the banking part the was the issue with them. It was their credit card I swear if it was not swiped they thought it was potentially fraud. They would lock the account and I would have to unlock it by responding to a text message. So I closed the card and the banking relationship. Langley for me is the exception to the rule. I have two credit cards with big banks and I would bank with either one again.

AL... sounds like Redstone? I was with them but they denied me the 5% back restaurant card and so I closed all my accounts

@Pppoolboy It is Redstone after I closed edited to add Capital One Walmart Card.r I waited for the credit card to report as closed to the bureaus. I then applied for the card and was approved for 10K which is the max limit for that card.
