9:15 AM: Started with United Club Infinite due to the Chase 5/24 rule

• To confirm, I had not received any personalized offers via mail or email. I also checked the “Just for you” section in the app and website to confirm there was nothing listed. Finally, I ran the “check if I’m pre-approved” marketing button on Chase’s homepage. All returned no cards.
• I have two Chase cards currently: Disney Inspire Visa and IHG Rewards Premier MC, $30,000 and $12,800 CLs, respectively. The IHG currently has a $0 balance; Disney is around $4700, but it’s all 0% APR promo.
• I was expecting a limit around $18,000.

Applied and got instant approval for $28,500! This FAR exceeded my expectations! 😊

Happy Sunday, all! I’m attempting a one-day spree of 5 cards today:

Chase United Club Infinite
Wells Fargo Attune
US Bank Cash+
Comenity Ford Rewards
AMEX Marriott Brilliant

I’ll post updates as the day progresses. Been working VERY hard to set this up for the last two months, and I thought this would serve as some good datapoints for others. Please feel free to ask any questions for your reference. First off, I went from 5/24 to 3/24 with Chase as of today (3/22/2026). Current scores are in my signature. Very excited! 😆

10:45 AM: Moving on to Wells Fargo Attune

• I was seeking this card specifically to get 4% cashback in categories that usually only get 2-3%.
• I only have one account with Wells Fargo at the moment, which is my Slumberland store card.
• I was expecting a limit around $10,000.

Applied and was denied, most likely due to my same-day inquiry with TU from Chase. Not completely unexpected as I know I'm shooting for the moon. This was not a high priority card for me, but rather more of a "nice to have" card. I'll reapply in 30-90 days. Keep moving forward!

Would be nice to know your data stats in detail. Like, number of HP's, 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months with each bureau. Same for new accounts, before starting the spree. Know that you 3/24 on new accounts. What's you current total utilization? Any particular CC over 30%?

Congrats on the Chase, Wells Fargo can be peculiar, so I wouldn't draw much from being declined. You should have done a preapp with Wells before applying full. I would have relied on that preapp, especially after having the pull from Chase, same bureau. Wells pulls Equifax for me, AZ.

I see this not as a reflection of creditworthiness, but rather a reflection of same‑day spree velocity. This limit is honestly just fine as I only expect $500-$1000 monthly spend on this card, so it will stay <30% regularly.

The next two cards (supposedly) do not care about same-day inquiries at all, so we'll see!

The first thing that jumps out at me is the utilization. It's way too high. Ideally I would want to be around 1% utilization or less going into a spree and definitely not over 8 to 9 % on a single revolver. This is probably what tripped you up at Wells for the decline. Also I would want to be 0/6 and no more than 2/12 on pulls going into a spree on all the bureaus. Your Fico scores are in the range that they really don't matter, not a factor. Of course if the preapprovals are telling you, you are good to go, then go for those giving you the green light, regardless of data stats.

1:45 PM: Comenity Ford Rewards Visa

• I did run through the prequalification process for this card; I was immediately pre-approved.
• I have one Comenity card currently (Big O Tires) with a $1,500 CL, which I will be getting rid of later this year.
• I was expecting a limit around $3,000.

Applied and got instant approval for $3,000 SL and $4,000 CL! Pretty much on par with expectations. Interesting quirk with this card initially is you are not only limited to $3,000 SL, but you are also limited to only 6 total transactions. Not planning on using this card right away, so this doesn't really impact me. I appreciated the much higher CL than what FNBO is willing to provide, as I plan on using this card (among other things) to pay for my auto insurance every six months.

Last one up: AMEX! Here we go!

2:15 PM: AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant

• I had a "personalized offer" for this card in my existing AMEX online account. I used that link to apply I was pre-approved.
• I have one AMEX card currently (BCP) with a $14,100 CL.
• I was expecting a limit around $10,000.

Applied and got instant approval for $5,000 SL! This lower limit might make the minimum spend SUB a little more challenging, but I'm up for it. As far as I can tell, this was just a soft pull as expected.

Card is already in my Apple Wallet (just like the Chase United Club) and ready to use!

Final tally and key takeaways:

1. 4 out 5 approvals in one day is absolutely a success in my book! The Wells Fargo Attune was honestly the least important/desired card in this lineup anyway.

2. Another datapoint for Chase 5/24 being calculated based on the exact day of account opening and not the overall month. I waited for my credit accounts to show "2 years" as their age in all three bureaus. Yesterday, these accounts' ages were listed as "1 year, 11 months".

3. Order of application should take into account Chase's 5/24 rule, bureaus pulled based on your state of residency, and personal priority. If a Chase card is part of a spree, it will almost ALWAYS be my first application.

4. Be prepared for lower starting limits and denials. This is completely normal behavior from issuers that see same-day inquiries. The desired outcome of the spree should be focused solely on the approval and not trying to maximize the CL of each card. Relish the success of any/all approvals and schedule reminders for any future CLI requests.

Hopefully this experience is helpful to some of you out there. I had most of my questions answered before going into this today, and I thought centralizing this information into a single topic could be of use to others.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend while I figure out how/where I'm going to spend my multiple SUB minimums! 😬

Congratulations! I have a question about Chase 5/24 rule..will those existing under 24 month cards be factored in with the new cards? Trying to understand if the combo is considered as exceeding 5/24, would Chase notice or care?

Just remember that Chase likes to feel special and hates being included in sprees - they are well known for clawing-back approvals when people get additional new cards from other F.I.s anytime in the 2 months after their new Chase card, (especially when one of those other cards puts the customer over 5/24). Alternatively, they might not close the card but might very well severely reduce its CL.

Not saying it will happen, just that there's fair possibility it might.

Congratulations!

A great spree. I've enjoyed watching. There's still time for another today while you're on a roll.

Congratulations, that's a whole lot of TU pulls. Did you confirm that all 3 pulls were TU? Maybe an EX or EQ, pulled CC has a further better chance at this point. The data is always appreciated!!

@ElvisCaprice Thanks for the reminder!

Ended up having 2 Experian pulls, 2 TransUnion pulls, and 1 Equifax pull (exported from my nerdy Excel workbook that I use to track ALL things credit accounts) 🤓. AMEX was a soft pull, so no impact.

Date

Issuer

Bureau

3/22/2026

Comenity

Equifax

3/22/2026

Chase

Experian

3/22/2026

U.S. Bank

Experian

3/22/2026

Chase

TransUnion

3/22/2026

Wells Fargo

TransUnion
