US Bank CLI-DECLINED!! SOFT PULL

I was just declined for a CLI on my gandfathered US Bank Platinum card -which I expected-so I was not disappointed-but a DP I came across -at least for me-is that the App said the request would be a SOFT PULL. This has been ambiguous at best for them in the past but just now it was stated that the request was a SP. This account was opened in July 2024 and is at Zero balance at this time. I have no idea why US Bank dislikes me at this time.

I just got a us bank card 6 weeks ago and I called to reconsider the abysmally low credit line and the analyst could only submit a request for me and it was a soft pull; how did you receive the denial though? im waiting to hear back this was only a day or two ago

The denial appeared in the USB app within 5 seconds of my submission via that channel. The verbiage was like "Sorry but we are unable to increase yoour credit limit at this time" or along those lines. I am sure they will send me a Reg B letter also via snail mail and that letter is not yet avilable to me online as I just checked. I am not sure it will eventually appear online or not,

Call in and see if u can get underwriting to do a manual review

I was denied for many CLIs from usb for a low TURD score

called underwriting and was given a 5x increase with a soft pull

Same here - USB used to love me but recently they don't.

Everytime I requested a CLI, USB approved with a SP.

Now I am finding they won't approve a CLI anymore - business or personal.

Did you hit some type of internal limit based on your external credit profiles for CLs and/or DTI or with USB?

Years back I hit some kind of internal limit with USB and by closing an account they were more comfortable (card had $10K CL). They actually wanted me to further reduce my internal credit limits but let it ride. At one time I had CLs equal to 61% of my income at USB.

Back in time, 2012, USB used to employ the use of a "Customer Relations" score equating to a points rating that could help a customer depending on the situation. Also, they have always said they do give weight to relationships (again back to 2012).

May be out of date now, and we know that times change?
