New Navy Federal Card Member

Hello Everyone,

My husband and I went to our local NFCU branch and applied for a secured card. We are in the rebuilding process and didnt want to take the chance of being denied for one of the unsecured cards so we took the safe route.

My question is the card has a $500 limit. Should we apply for a credit limit increase in 6 months or wait until they graduate our card to unsecured? If we wait how long does that normally take with good payment history
