I wonder what will happen to our TrueEarning. Do you think they will start charging AF? They were trying to negotiate with Mastercard Inc too. Well I hope if they do Cap1 it has the capability to excep any kind of Cap1 CC just like with Amex.

The street predictions are discover.

The processing network and the card company are separated. So MasterCard or visa could do the processing, but any cc company could get the cards. This includes chase, discover, citi, Barclays, etc.

I don't know how I would feel about them going with Discover.

On the one hand, I would get more use out of their card. Right now I'm just parking a 0% balance on mine.

But on the other... eh. I'm pretty much over rotating category cards. I have more important things to fret over.

Cap1 already has the super secret Business card. I think Ron1 has it.

Technically, no. By a major processing network (V, MC, AX, D), yes. However, Capital One does offer the "retail" version of the Costco card. And, no this is not the Canadian version.

Exactly, you can apply for it at Costco but you have to let the associates know it's not the TE, but rather the retail version. I know of a couple individuals that have the non-AMEX TE version.

I beleieve it's a very ordinary looking Costco card from what I recall. Glad to see you're still around Mr B!

You are suprised? Cap1 Nixon and retail! geeze . Of course they are going to milk it for all its worth.. The question is why doesn't costco slap them and say no, they have the power to make the lender charge not more then x interest rate or they tell capital one or whomever to go take a hike and find an issuer that won't say go over 15.99% or whatever
