Does Capital One use the Same HP for Multiple Card Apps?

Hey Guys,

I'm pondering from the garden wondering if Capital One uses the same HP for multiple apps in a specific time period?

I can only speak for myself here -- not sure what the experience is for others. Last week I applied for the Capital One Venture (approved instantly) and then decided to apply for the Capital One Prestige on the same day, about an hour apart (approved instantly). I received only 1 HP on each of the bureaus for both approvals.

It is extremely uncharacteristic for them but I believe there is a thread in Approvals detailing just this.

+1 to the above. I applied last Friday evening for the Venture, was instantly approved for 10k, and then for the Platinum Prestige, and was instantly approved for 5k. I only got one triple-pull.

FWIW I was pre-approved for both of these cards before apping (was also pre-approved for the QS), and I applied for the Plat Prestige about 5 minutes after getting the Venture approval. My scores were within ~5 points of the ones in my signature. I do have a few baddies, including an unpaid CO for 19K that's dated 2010, as well as a paid CO and some 120 lates on a student loan, also from 2009-10. Before this round, my latest INQs were about 7 months ago.

It would be nice to think that if they're going to light you up at all 3, they'd be willing to give you 2-for-1. Maybe they finally heard about Amex's policy ;-)

Sometimes, like when you do back to back apps they will. When I applied for Venture #2 last week and got pending, I immediately applied for QS (and got pending), but they didn't re-pull.

I wasn't so lucky. Two pulls across all three. They were like a week apart though so probably my fault.

I was one of the lucky ones that got approved for 2 cards with one triple pull. Apparently it can happen but doesn't happen for everyone. I was NOT prequalified on their site.

I did the same as others have . I had a pre-qual for quicksilver,venture and prestige . I applied for the venture and quicksilver back to back off the pre-qual. So far only 1 set of triple pulls but they both were instant approvals.. Also did same thing for DW and again same thing only 1 set of triple pulls..

Now my question is has anyone recieved both approved cards yet or did you have to reapply for new card? Just curious because i still have not recieved the approval emails yet.

Yes, I've received both approved cards, and they came with the limits and APRs noted when I was approved.

I did only receive a "your card has been shipped" email for the Plat Prestige, not the Venture, which made me a little nervous at first. But now they're both here and all set up online. Now it's time to start working on that Venture 3k spend for 40k points ;-)

Also FYI in case anyone got the Plat Prestige for a BT like I did - there's a 10 day waiting period before you can actually do a BT. The clock starts counting from the date of your approval, though, so I only have 3 more days to wait.

Thanks Jamex for answering my question.. I recieved the approval emails already and if i go to link accounts it has both new numbers . So far 2 approvals for 1 triple pull. Same for my DW.

I have received both the Venture and the Venture One already with the limits and apr that was shown on the approval screen. I'm sure you will have yours soon.
