Amex In Progress

Applied for Blue Cash Preferred. Have been flat out denied every app before and now it gave me the 7-10 day message, status says in progress and got an email this morning saying the app was received and they will contact me when they finish.

What do you think my chances are? I've seen in many threads that this leads to an approval most of the time but seen a few people were denied in the end.

Very anxious. I really want in with Amex, especially this card for gas and groceries, not to mention Costco.

In progress is better than a flat out denial and possibly a sign of hope but if 658 is your current EX score idk...could go either way but thats a bit low for a revolver. Not sure if Amex reviews apps on the weekend and Monday is a holiday so you may be waiting until Tuesday Good luck!

I recieved 7-10 day after apping for Citi and Chase, both ended up as denials, Amex was instant approval though, hope you have different results than I did. Good luck.

Amex approved me with 661 EX score but at the time I had zero INQs so it's possible.

I would say 90-99% of the time yes. Although its been reported they may pull an additional bureau on occasion

I hate Ex! They have a couple stupid medical COs on me from like 09 that need to drop! Probably will keep me from Amex for another year or so.
