I would get the savingstar just for staples at i think if im reading it right 11% back. 6% for savingstar and then another 5% for using the amex??

Assuming you are talking about shopping online at staples.com, thats probably correct. I didn't check your percentages, but that is how it works. You can cash out any time your earnings are at least $5. too bad its below 0 now, or i could have gotten a free Mounds or Almond Joy today at CVS using savingstar.com ( I would be out the sales tax).

yes, FNBO is INQ sensitive, they denied me the New York Life card, then 4 months later I applied and got the savingstar.com with $9800 credit limit.

The free EX FICO 8 Bankcard score is nice, but its range is 250 - 900.

ok i really dont understand this card. It says i can get 10% back on sams club? How is that possible its an amex and amex is not accepted at sams club. Also, what is considered an eligible SavingStar grocery purchases

Savingstar.com was originally a coupon site. So they offer coupons each week that you can select, and then at participating stores you buy the item, and the coupon amount appears in your savingstar.com account. For example, I have my CVS card linked to savingstar.com, and if I have previously selected a 50 cent coupon for Pringles, I then buy the pringles at CVS using my CVS card, and later 50 cents appears in my account. SO, now if i do the exact same thing, only I also pay for the Pringles using my Savingstar credit card, I get an additional 10% cash back in my savingstar account. pringles cost about $2, so I get 50 cents plus 20 cents.

Or I can use their new online shopping portal. I can go to Landsend via the portal, and i'll get 6% cash back, plus if I them pay using my Savingstar.com credit card, i get an additional 5% cash back.

But even if I don't care to do any of that, it still gives at least 1% cash back on all purchases, and i can redeem the money that has accumulated in my savingstar account any time I want, just as long as I have $5 or more in there.

Sams club is 1% cash back via the online portal. So if you purchase something online at sams club by first going through the savingstar portal, you get 1% cash back. If you also pay for the online sams club purchase using the savingstar card, you get an additional 5%.

Hopefully that makes sense.

I think i get it. So lets say you bought a bag of lays chips you would not get the additional 10% cash back, you would only get it on the pringles?

First National Bank of Omaha AMEX Offer Bad?

Got an offer in the mail from FNBO for the AMEX. The APR in my opinion is crap (18.99%) - no mention of 0% intro interest on purchases or BTs. That annoys me because the regular offer if you go out on their site to apply cold is for 0% interest for 12 months on purchases and BTs. My offer did come with no annual fee & no preset spending limit, and 1% cash back on all purchases. After reading some of the other posts out there about their AMEX offers, mine seems like a pretty crappy one. Any thoughts? I have until 4/1 to apply & I am thinking about passing.

Thanks in advance!

If you live outside their area the only way to get into the bank is by a preapp offer. I agree its not the best offer they can present and if you dont need the card then pass and wait for a better offer. You can see if you are in their area by going to their site and trying to cold app for a card if you are not in a state they take cold apps from it will not present you with the app.

Hopefully that makes sense.

i received an offer from them but idont remember what they offered me all i remember it went straight to the shredder

@Lkb273 wrote:

Thanks in advance!

.

I also recommend the Savingstar Amex. The Shopping Portal is awesome. Definitely beats Discover's. Can't think of another FNBO card with as good of a rewards structure.
