It doesn't always go to review. I got instant approve but only 2500$
But it is true that review doesn't mean denial. My friends app went to review and was approved 3000 a week and a half later.. She just received the card I think without any approval notice

I recently transferred $3500 into an IRA with them but will wait to app for the Amex - I'm prequalifying for a new mortgage, and once my current house sells I'll be transferring a bunch more $$$ to them - I've looked at the app page and you include your CMA # in the app, so I would think the more $$$ you have in the account, the better your odds for approval.

I'm probably going to wait a bit. I'd like to get my util down a bit more. My scores are in the mid-600s too, and I don't want to get this card with a shoddy limit, so odds are I'll wait. But I love my CM account (the only bank I use now) and my 401k is there. I got a letter from them to apply a few weeks ago hence the temptation. In a perfect world I'd get approved and transfer my balances over and that would be perfect, but that's probably a long shot.
