Barclaycard Denied

I am trying to improve my score and was told to try applying for at least 2 more credit cards. I have one through my CU with a $2000 limit and a Children's Place Card with a $300 limit. I applied for a Barclaycard and they denied me. My letter states Too many recent applications. Then it says a credit bureau report was not used in making this determination. What does that mean?

Did you apply for the same Barclay card in the past? Even if it was a few months ago? I applied in October and was denied. Was told that I could apply again in 120 days, waited and applied again and was given that exact message as you (on the letter they sent) I called and was told their system just automatically denied me because of my last app in the system even though it has been 4 months. They offered to push the app through and do a HP to see if they could approve me this time but I declined. So definitely call. If you did apply before they will push the app through for you.

My credit scores are EX 645, EQ 644, TU 614. I only had 1 inq on TU.

So I called the recon # and they told me that because I had applied in November and was declined they just automatically denied me again. He said I have shown improvement since I last applied but now I need my utilization to go down, blah. He said to show significant payments and pay downin the next couple of months and I should not have a problem getting approved.

i would call a few more times to see if you can get approved with that pull.

I was denied for the second time for a Barclays card last night, did recon last night and was told to new of credit and high utilization. I called again and was told the same thing, probably will not do a recon again. I had 630 TU they pulled, 2 cap one cards for 7 months each, no missed payments but 2750/3500 credit utilization (they did not like, I know its high and I need to get it down). I have read CK stories of people being approved with high 500 low 600 for Barclay rewards card and I continue to get denied. I am just going to go in the garden for 6 to 8 months, pay Cap one cards down to 10% utilization and apply again.

I agree, I was given the same reason, utilization. So I'm just going to pay it down and see what happens. I now have 5 inq on TU, that i'm not liking. So I will garden as well.

Dude you gotta get that util down before they will approve you. You are maxed right now. Garden 6 months and work on it.

Baller4life: Yeah that is my plan, no steering away from it now. I have way too many inquiries on all reports and too high of utilization. Garden and no usage for me!
