Apple FCU: Have you heard of it? Your opinions?

Someone on here suggested an Apple FCU Visa Platinum card to me because I was looking for a low interest card. Found the Apple FCU Visa Platinum at the following link https://www.applefcu.org/CreditCards/Platinum but I'm not able to find many user reviews on this card. I am wondering if any of you on here have heard of it, if so...what do you think? It has a crazy low possible APR. I'm interested but I'm also cautious.

P.S. A few CreditKarma reviews on the credit union as a whole, not the card specifically doesn't really convince me one way or another.

It's a great credit union - small though, local to northern VA. They're in the top 100 credit unions in the US, last I remember... damn good feat for a small bank. It's been around for YEARS! Conservative but willing to entertain limits. 720 is A to them IIRC

Max limit they can give out is $34k unsecured, combined. So if you have a LOC and CC, it doesn't matter how it's split up as long as it's not over $34k.

They're also a TU puller unless the credit is bad/they need more info then they'll double. It's mostly manual reviews as well last I checked - but there were talks of getting an automated system. I can ask if you are interested in that.

By all means, ask away! Thanks for your input. I hope I qualify when I apply as I know that CK's EF and TU scores aren't 100% accurate.

Yup, donation for those out of state! Otherwise - living, working, or worshipping in their two county charters work as well.... hint: they don't verify worshipping

Wow thanks for looking into this so thoroughly baller4life, I don't know what Chexsystems is but that donation amount seems reasonable.

When I look at the online application I don't see an option to join by a donation to that organization.

Chexsystems is a company that banks report to if you have had overdrafts or fraudulent accounts. Most banks and CUs use them to approve you.

Good question. I called back and rep said when you fill out app choose Nvadaca then you join. She also said they use Telecheck. And no credit pull for membership. I'm about to gp and will keep you all posted.

Ok folks NVADACA way in is now dead as of a couple months ago. So only way in are thru employers listed,live or worship in area,or family or household member. Bummer! Oh well....

Spooty when I was online doing app, it wasn't listed as an option. So, I called and guy said it was no longer an option as of a couple months ago. So now what?

How do you access the donation route because it's not on the online application. I might just go the church route

Their call center can't open the accounts over the phone.

I just went to the online app and it doesn't have the option either - give me til tomorrow and I'll get back on this thread on the proper course of action.

There is a bypass but I don't want to tell you all the wrong thing so I'll find out exactly what to do.
