Ladies and Gents I had a similar experience.

I emailed a Good Will letter via the CapOne website and a lady for the EO called me a few days later.

I was requesting that they delete past due payments back from 2011/2012. I explained that I was on military duty and the lady said she would see what she could do after a background investigation to vailidate my military statement.

While I had her on the phone, I took the time to explain to her that I was only granted a $150 CLI a few days earlier and I was hoping to get a lot more since I've been with them a long time. She then asked about my income and assets and stated that she would pass the info on for further review.

I spoke with her today and she said that she was stay waiting for info and that she would surely call me back once she finds something out.

#HopefullyForAGoodOutcome

I recently asked for my Quicksilver cards (2) to get a CLI, went through the website but also sent EO an email requesting CLI with reasons and my info. Cap 1 online obviously denied my request which I kind of knew would happen since its hard to get a CLI through requesting online. But I recieved a call back from EO today. He stated he would put through to his underwriters to take a look at my report (soft pull) and call me back in a couple days to see what he can do. He initially asked what amount I was looking for and I told him 4k on both (2k and 1.5k currently), he asked if I would be willing to take partial increase in which I did tell him that would be fine as well. I have had the cards for about 8 months and never missed a payment, utilization is somewhat high 2600/3500. I also have an auto loan from Capital one as well. Fico Scores are in sig. Is this a good sign or bad sign that he sent to underwriters rather than looking up himself?

I went through this exact process about a week ago (trying to get a CLI through EO).

I believe it's standard that the EO takes your information and then passes it along. I asked for an increase to $5,000, and consented to a partial increase. A couple of days later my credit limit was showing as $2,000 in my Capital One account online. There was no further communication from them after the initial call back to take my information and discuss the amount I wanted.

Good luck!

My limit was $2500 at the time. She also asked if I was willing to take a partial increase, and I told her no. Three days later I got turned down, and a day later I had jettisoned the card. I was refused CLI's forever while carrying large balances (relative to limits of 300/500). A soon as I paid the balances down and started cycling money though my cards, while making LARGE payments several time per month to keep the balances down, they tripled my limits. They want you to USE them, but not carry a balance. Carrying a balance equals RISK for that interest. High usage/low balance OTOH, generates vendor fees with much lower risk.

Then my cli request is going to be denied because of lack of use. I actually have a credit balance of 2 dollars in one of the cards. The reward upgrade got processed already.
